Hi everyone

I'm nearing the completion of my first ever model. I am pleased with how it is turning out so far. However I am always out to improve so if you have any suggestions then feel free to leave a comment!

Thank you

Thats a really great job for your first ever mini!

It's clear you have tried to be as neat as possible and have great brush control, so well done

What you should try working on next are two of the most fun things to learn, highlighting and shading. There are loads of Dakka articles on them including one in my sig, and getting to grips with them will let you get some really awesome depth into the miniatures you paint.

You could even just start shading and highlighting this guy once you feel you have his colours where you want them to be.

Grats again!

Cool - drybrushing (look it up on dakka dakka if you don't know what it is) the brown with a lighter colour could be effective in bringiing out the brown!

This looks amazing so far!!! Like ilfaina said the thing to do now is figure out shading and highlights. But seriously this is awesome for your first model. The fact your paint seems to have been thinned properly is great. And that you've kept the model crisply painted is stupendous and shows great potential.

got a question to start off with, is it still wet on this picture or did you varnish it with a gloss varnish?
because is you did i suggest getting some brush on matte varnish for things like fur and bone, because that looks really silly when its shiny.
Adding some sand and small rocks to the base will also improve the overall look of the model, i have a few tutorials on how to make bases on my Youtube channel (link in my signature)

but, for a first, its looking really good...

I'd use a wash or two to get some shading on it....

If you use a wash/shade over the fur, it'll really bring it out. The new range of GW washes are fantastic! Simple and effective =]
