Thanks for the critique, guys!
First off, here's the other models I've got to play with:
2 x Command Barge
1 x Overlord
3 x Doomsday Ark
2 x Triarch Stalker
16 x Warriors
9 x Scarabs
GiantSlingshot: I guess the reason I picked Zahndrekh as an
HQ was because A) he opens up a Court, and B) I was interested in seeing what the other Necron Special Characters bring to the table. I've played with Bargelords, D. Lords, and Imotekh before, and been generally happy with their performance - was more for the sake of variety I guess. I'd be open to trying one of the other Special Characters as well. Generic Overlords/D. Lords are at the bottom of my priority list right now: they'll probably end up in my 'final' 6th edition list, but for right now I want to experiment a bit with them.
Also, a note on troops. 20 Warriors might not seem like a lot, and it's not. But they're surprisingly durable (especially if you put one or two units of them in reserve) and in my experience, they're usually ignored in favor of my other threats.
jy2: I see what you're saying about troop mobility. On the other hand, I do feel that (at least in my case) any Deathmark units NEED the Night Scythe for precision placement - otherwise they tend to mishap scatter, or scatter out of rapid fire/template range and then get shot up. You might be right in that only one unit is necessary though.
ShadarLogoth: You're right in that the D. Lord is sexy. I've ran a couple of Wraithwing lists using D. Lords at 2500, and they are absolute beatsticks. But as I mentioned to GiantSlingshot, I'm really interested in experimenting with other Necron
SCs.
Thanks again for the C&C guys! I'm already looking at my list in a new light and will work on it some more today! Keep it coming!
