Subject: The new Daemons - what's your view on them?

Hey,
I have been looking at the new daemons and I wandered what others thought of the new models, the new flamers look good aswell as the chariots, but then again I think the new nurgle models look terrible.
Here they are: http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/armySubUnitCats.jsp?catId=cat440160a&rootCatGameStyle=wh40k&utm_term=other&utm_medium=email&utm_content=image-link-body&utm_source=e9700002-en_GB&utm_campaign=DaemonsAONewsletter-en_GB
what's your take on it?

Truth is, I'm having a hard time telling the difference between the old screamers and flamers and the new ones.
The new chariot looks pretty awesome. I'm glad it's heavy support, finally giving the daemons some real choices. But what's the difference between the Hellflayer and the chariot? The product description still makes me grin.
" Please add two of these boxes to your cart in order to make this model. "
PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE! Buy some extras of our product!
The nurgle daemons look silly. I like the old ones. Daemons are moving away from being monstrous and looking more cartoony with every new release.

The chariots are far too flimsy as a vehicle to be any use and their foot print size makes them questionable for deep striking. What the rumor thread said about their rules they do not seem to an attractive option against Fiends or Seekers (not sure what slot choice they are). The model itself it does not seem very Slaanesh like with the meat grinder blades.
I like the redesigned Nurgle units it reminds me of older fluff about Grandfather Nurgle and the great dance. They are horrifying but somewhat comedic with the nurglings. Not sure about the Tzeentch they lack the smooth flowing aesthetic the old models had.

I've never felt the itch to buy new "flavour of the month" stuff or what you call it, until now. It's all absolutely gorgeous.
I don't really get the Soul Grinder though? What's the difference between the advance order one and the old one?

I rather like the new Plaquebears. They look somewhat jovial but considering Nurgle's nature this appears to be fitting.
Besides this, a different, less bright paintjob would probably give them a more menacing appearance.
I am not a big fan of the charriot but this has more to do with my general dislike for the current Daemonetes which require quite a bit
of work to become as aluring as the old ones used to be.

I don't get the meat grinder wheels on the back of the slannesh chariots either. Not very alluring to say the least.
The only thing that I'm hoping for is better deployment rules and maybe better synergy with the next released Chaos Codex. I know right now Slannesh daemons get kind of the short end of the stick in the allies rules because they just don't have the survivability to hang out in the open.
I still feel that I want to get more damonettes its best to look for other models. The plastic damonettes still just don't work for me.

I have already thrown in a pre order for an exalted chariot. I quite like them. And then depending on how annoying it is to build and what I think of the model once I have first hand experience with it will decide if I buy another 2 for a 3 man unit. As a heavy support choice its nice to be able to field something other than a daemon prince which I consider completely out of character. (why is my tiny daemon army being lead by not 1 not 2 but 3 daemon princes AND a Greater Daemon.)

The Blue Scribes look awesome. They're pretty handy in game too, lets a Tzeentch player get Pavane while remaining mono-tzeentch.

I'm a little concerned about the rules for these new units. I used the new Screamers and Flamers against my friends this weekend and I absolutely stomped all over them.
Usually our games are close or I lose. But with these new rules I was wiping them out in 4 turns or less.

Flamers going down 12 points and gaining a second wound is filthy. I'll almost feel bad about using them. Screamers were okay for their points before, but now they're amazing-HoW, multiple S5 AP2 attacks? Um...yes please? Who cares if they went up 9 points, their value flew off the chart. I left my booklet in the car, but I believe they have slash attacks now too, like they do in fantasy. I am pleased...
Also, I don't dislike a single new model. If anyone wants to buy a bunch of metal Nurglings off of me, I want the plastic ones!

Flamers will get blasted apart by anything with serious firepower. Dakka orks will do this, most marine lists, guard etc.

No, he doesn't.
Flamers with 2 wounds and a 5+ save are dirty for 23 points. They're way less vulnerable to shooting than they were.
Screamers are good too.

Fiends should still be elite Seekers should still be fast attack. I agree I could see them painted bronze and on another chariot with Bloodletters instead.

Typically, if you are running flamers and not getting a round of shooting off, you're using them incorrectly. That squad of irks probably won't be around to shoot them, or they will have already killed a lot and have done their job. With a friendlier mishap table, risking them becomes a better option than it used to be.
