Finished painting steam tank, so first game with its nice shiny paint (new book). Had it anchoring one of the flanks, along with 30 swordsmen and their priest. First roll, 5 steam points, i misfire the arty dice, it ends up exploding (first turn too), the adjacent swordsmen take 11 S4 hits, 10 die, they proceed to panic and flee, right into their two handgunner detachments loitering behind , and sknce i cant place the swords behknd due to no room, off the table. Then both detachments fail panic checks, and off the table they go. One entire flank and 793 points went byebye because of one misfire roll.

Stupid metal box...

Thing is, that was the flank that was supposed to hold off a horde of skellies, who were then free to rampage into my centre's flank. Plus side, my opponent went to buy me a coffee whilst i went to grab some much needed soothing nicotine lol.

Actually, similar story with the skave, my buddy was using his empire against a skaven army, in an old scenario that required marchin from one short edge to the other, while the opponent ambushed them on either side.he had deployed in two long conga lines (this was 7th, before hordes).
What followed was hilariously unlucky. turn one, skaven warpfire thrower scattered, and just clipped the lead two ubits.

(see where this is going?)

What followed was the most catastrophic ld tests, as after a single casualty was caused on each lead unit, they failed their panic tests, as did every single unit behind them, leading to a game of leapfrog off the table.
Ever knock over a house of cards?
