So, I don't have the cash to throw down on a sisters army, but I really like the challenge of the game play and the concept itself. I looked through the fluff and found that, despite the Fraternis Templar (a male version of the Sisters of battle) were disbanded, Some have formed into the Fraternis Militia and are still active. Now, I'm not going to delve into the finer details of how they support themselves with Bolters and Meltas and such, because I'm not going to lie, I dunno.

I was planning on kit bashing the Empire Flagellants with space marine arms and putting standard space marine back packs on them for the sisters themselves. using Chaos Marauders with the Iron Mask heads from the flagellants and Grey Knight power glavies (I think? that the two handed weapon right?) and making Brothers Repentia.

All i wanna know is if anyone happens to have a space Marine's arms and a flagellants body to see if they bash correctly, before I go out buying Kits.

Won't power armored arms look really, really goofy on skinny robed bodies?

Use Space Marine Scouts. Thier arms should match up "better" then space marine arms. And the metla's will match their wrists as well.

I made a male sisters army about 3 years back using space marine scouts and Cadian heads. I also used whirlwinds as my exorcists. Since then I have replaced the heads with mas helmets. If you would like I could post some pics of my take on them.

Depends on scale really, the Flagellants aren't exactly skin 'n bones, it's more of gladiator pope rather then 'I only work out my biceps'. If the sisters can be considered power armored with a corset, back pack and shoulder pads, I see no reason why the flagellants would be much different....

As long as they scale correctly. That's the big thing. I don't want to drop thirty bucks on a kit and find that i have to re-adjust every set of arms so that they can actually hold their bolters.

I've considered the scout arms, but Space Marines also allow me things like the blood angels inferno pistols and the GK Glaives for my Repentia. Scout marines only have so many weapons they can hold, and don't even cover a multi-melta.

While I want them to look rag tag, they should still be somewhat uniform right?

The flagellant models are more in line with the size of the renegade guard skinny arms than the bulky SM power armoured arms. I dont have an exact comparison of scale but I do believe they'll look massive on the flagellants.

I think it'd look funny. The flagellants have bare chests and I THINK they'd be too weedy to look natural with SM arms. They look like beefy dudes in that picture, but I think that's only 20mm bases they're mounted on so really, they're not that huge, they don't take up the whole base by a long shot. If you look at the image of a Space Marine, they really fill out the 25mm base across the shoulders, so I think they're significantly bulkier.

If you think they fit ok then I'll be happy to see the results and be proven wrong But on the surface I think the scales are a bit out.

well, that's just it, I think stylistically, it would look fine. Kinda like the lead character of Full Metal Alchemist, with his armored sleeves and no chest armor. I'm more worried that the space between a space marine's armpits is greater then the space between the Flagellants armpits...

If that makes sense. I just don't want to purchase the flagellants bits and find that the arms won't hold a bolter because the cradling hand wants to hold the gun at the grip. i'm not even planning on putting the shoulder pads on the rank and file 'brothers'.

I had to google Full Metal Alchemist to know what you meant But ok. I can see what you're going for, I think you'll just find the arms are way too thick and aren't detailed enough to make it look "right". Looking at the FMA images it seems he has some sort of sleeve/mechanical arm/whatever, but it's still proportioned like a regular arm, my concern with the Space Marine arms would be that they're thick and long so it'll look like popeye, except the whole arm being too long and thick not just the forearm. You might also struggle to convince people a bare chest is power armour. The SOBs corset is at least armour, they aren't walking around half nekkid.

If your only concern is the arms holding the bolter I'm sure you can make them fit with a bit of work and maybe some greenstuff (angling the arms outward if they're too narrow, repositioning the wrist and filling the gaps with greenstuff). The marine arms from memory have the armour trimmed under the armpit so they fit across a marine's chest, you'd just have to add that material back in and maybe reangle the wrists if you need to.

Yeah, I was just hoping to save time and see if anyone had the two bits available to see if the they fit or not. I'm pretty hard set on giving them some spiffy-ness to account for the back pack not floating on their bodies, and can use that to add some width, but if I'm going to have to re-adjust elbows and wrists and such for over 100 models, i'll just go about trying to find another alternative (Maybe Catachen? with the Flagellant heads?).

I guess I have this idea of a battle ready preacher, and the flagellants really fit perfectly for the look I want, but finding appropriate arms with the right sized bodies is more challanging, as all the bodies seem to be IG and all the arms are SM.

Yeah maybe you can find someone who has some flags they haven't assembled yet to blutac some marine arms on to see how they look, unfortunately I don't own any! Some GW stores are very friendly and might have some they've put together themselves you could look at.

I'm just going off the base size, you know a marine is on a 25mm base and the flags are probably 20mm bases? So you can tell from the pictures how big they are (you can even save the pictures, import them to paint and count pixels to get an idea of dimensions, MS paint outputs the cursor location in pixels on the bar at the bottom).

So I put together one with Chaos Marauder bits, and it came out wonderfully. The Flagellant bits look fine, but they have an issue of being to thin across the shoulders and can't hold two handed weapons (like bolters and such) so they're going to have to be something akin to the VSS (VBS?) and my Seraphim where their arms aren't holding the same item.
