Looking for something to play in sixth edition, this is one thought:
Librarian: Null Zone, the Avenger
Master of the Forge, Conversion Beamer
Dreadnought: multi-melta, heavy flamer
Dreadnought: multi-melta, heavy flamer
Dreadnought: multi-melta, heavy Flamer
Tactical Squad: missile launcher, melta gun, Razorback: las/plas
Tactical Squad: missile launcher, melta gun, Razorback: las/plas
Tactical Squad: missile launcher, melta gun, Razorback: las/plas
Tactical Squad: missile launcher, melta gun, Razorback: las/plas
Land Speeder: multi-melta
Dreadnought: 2xTL Autocannon
Dreadnought: 2xTL Autocannon
Dreadnought: 2xTL Autocannon
The Tac squads will usually divide into combat squads. The Libarian will probably ride in a Razor with one lot, the Master will sit in the back with another.

The plas on razorbacks are now a bit dodgy because of gets hot.
I would get an ADL with quad gun for your gunline to hide behind.
Short ranged dreads I would want to have a drop pod, so they can bring their arms to bear.
I would either upgrade to a typhoon that will fit your list else go for an attack bike.
You are sitting in a good position to make use of Allies. You can replace say a couple of razorback squads and the librarian and directly get better versions elsewhere.

I can live with Gets Hot; one in 72 isn't bad odds. Besides, I'm not keen on buying replacement turrets.
The defence line is intriguing; I might try that out.
The Speeder is for suicide melta runs, but I'll look at attack bikes.
What do you mean by "better versions", specifically?

I ran I list like this once in 5th and loved it. Tons of fun. The only issue I see is that it'll take the cc dreads a while to get in place. Maybe free up some points and pod them?

I assume what he means by "Better versions" is instead of (for example) taking a librarian and a tac squad, you take a SW rune priest and grey hunter squad. Or the BA equivalents. Why spam just regular razors, when you can toss in a few fast BA ones. Or add a furioso to the dread collection.

They aren't really meant to be close-combat Dreads, rather melta Dreads. It just seems prudent to have some melta. I could play them as Riflemen instead, but I think I'll try it as is first. Automatically Appended Next Post: Nevelon wrote:

Those seem like reasonable suggestions, except I don't have any of those things!

Thanks for that it took me a second to understand what I meant but, yes, there are better razorback troops and better librarians/rune priests.
I did say a bit dodgy not bad , on the topic TLAC or TLlascannon make reasonable AA guns.

Is this for casual play only? If not, I'm curious, how do you plan to beat Necrons?

Yes, it's pretty much for casual play. It's certainly not going to any major tournaments, because I'm not.

Well in that case it looks pretty cool. You'll find your armour get taken down very easily, and thus your army will start disappearing very fast, but it looks fun and can put out a lot of hurt if given the chance.

The more I think about this, the better assault cannons sound to me in place of the multi-meltas. Still reasonably capable versus armor - actually better, potentially, over 12" away - but a bit more versatile and it's all about throwin' dice!
