Ok, I was sick of building and painting 40k & wanted a break, so I thought to myself: I should try & scratchbuild some BFG ships for fun out of my bitz box.

I started with a beakie strike cruiser & was so pleased with it that I built 2 more and then a battle barge & a pair of Novas & Hunters respectively. Well, then I thought that even though I built a fleet to accompany my primary 40K army, I'd need a "bad guy" fleet since AFAIK no one here plays BFG. I started thinking & with all the bommer & nob bitz sitting around in my bitz box I realized that Orks would be perfect because, like anything Orkoid, their ships can be so unique & different but still be the same "class" & that's why I've always loved doing Ork scratchbuilds over Imperial, there's no STC!

So that being said, I built an Ork fleet. Not a huge one, yet. It consists of:
Gorbag's Revenge
1 Killkroozer
3 Terror Ships (though I always think Terror should be more like Terrah lol)
2 Savage Gunships
2 Brute Ram ships (1 more in progress)

Hopefully my links work today...

First up is the battleship:

Next is the killkroozer:

Ok, next is the Terror Ships:
This one I call the "Angler Fish" lol

For some reason, I think of Serenity when I look at this one

Next are the Ravager Gunships:

Finally, 2 of the 3 Brute Ramships

There's still one Brute Ramship on the painting table, next will probably be some roks, maybe a 2nd killkroozer for gun support. Makes a nice little fleet for a start, I'll probably build a second battle ship as well since my kruizers are all tapped out (6).

Holy hera! Those look fantastic! Great work on the orkoid fleet, perfectly captures the "How the hell does that thing maintain hull integrity much less travel through the warp" of Ork space tech.

I beg of you sarge let me lead the charge when the battle lines are drawn
Lemme at least leave a good hoof beat they'll remember loud and long

As they get painted I'll be sure to post them, no worries

Unfortunately that's taking a little longer because I tied my SM fleet in with my 40K SM army: Imperial Fists. And painting yellow is never a fast process lol. Not if you want it to look right that is.
