That's what this beast things to have been designed for, at least. Airsoft is extremely popular in Japan and (I think) even originates there, due to actual weapons being banned but lots of people wanting to shoot guns.

Nah. Tentacle erotica was a fad of the 80s, and actually a product of censorship (depicting human wangs entering orifices was outlawed, so the porn companies invented tentacle pron to compensate). Most of Japan has either gotten over it or was never interested in it to start with.
