Well basically those armies that are too fun that they smell of trolling...

In my FLGS we have a smurf kid that uses Calgar and Sicarius + his command squad leading 40 scouts. Its a sight to see and its almost threatening when Calgar/Scarius rolls the outflanking trait and comes in with the scouts... hehe

We also 2 veterans that have 15k points of SM and Orks.

They decided to go for a 2k game with a grot army vs a scout company woohoo! Scouts barely won though.. hehe

1850 points (buying new stuff)
Canceled, waiting for new dex
A battleforce, some guardians, a DA box, 2 banshee boxes,1 warp spider box,2 swooping hawk boxes, Found new love for the guys, debating on whether i should start or not

Back when Codex Eye of Terror and the Lost and the Damned was a legal list, my personal favourite army consisted of max sized units of gibbering hordes, big mutants and chaos spawn. It was simply impossible for an army to cause enough wounds to stop. You could fire every weapon at full effectiveness at the army every turn, and at the end of the game, there'd still be stuff left.

I haven't read the full apoc rules, but don't assassins count as unique, and you can't have more than 1, just like you can't have 2 Calgar's running around in your list?

Also, worst troll army is a MLP army on the table.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Assassins are indeed unique, and Apocalypse removes the Force Org Chart, but does nothing about the fact you can only have one of each unique model.

And on the first turn each one popped a transport and the squads inside got killed in the explosion?

I had a dude want to play me with a proxy army consisting of scraps of paper cut out in the appropriate base sizes. He drew on the paper and carried it around in a tupperware.

pretty sure he had over 2000 points of paper nids.

Ironically enough this was back in the day before the "true sight" bs so the army would have actually worked just fine (i think) i just didnt feel like playing a bunch of peices of paper.

Indeed, you can't take more than 1 of each type of assassin, but we didn't think about that at the time, nor did we care. It was an apocalypse game after all.

Turn one was spent removing just about everything with an armor value from the table (my team had been wise enough to keep most of our stuff off the board though) and killing a few nobs from the green tide on our side.

Turn 2, they drowned in combined shoota and splinter cannon fire. I think one was left on the board, and he got punked 100~ boy strong multiassault on turn 3.

I was taking on two guys at once, me with 2000, them with 1000 each.

Combined, they had 3 LRs, 2 Defilers, too many marines to kill off easily and over 800 points of Deathstars. Each guy was running Abaddon + LC Termies in a LR. And I play crons...

i played against some of my buddies using draigo, with 4 pallies and a seperate unit of 1 pally, and a storm raven. while they had nids and a sw termie list at 755pts. i sadly rofl stomped them with only losing a couple wounds and a storm raven. The single pally decided to dance with a tervigon and won. poor rolling on the tervigons part but hey solo pally OP. they told me they never wanted to see the pallies again lol.

Recent 10k Apoc Battle I witnessed. Cron player brought:

Imotekh
Orikan the Diviner
C'tan with Writhing Worldscape and that dust one that gives him cover and assault and defensive grenades
4 squads of 5 immortals
and then a gak ton of Pylons and Doomscythes and Nightscythes

The ensuing battle wasn't pretty.

Gods? There are no gods. Merely existences, obstacles to overcome.

I bet that was absolute hilarity. Imotekh makes most of his stuff bulletproof, orikan + ctan can cause absolute carnage amongst enemy units, and then Flyers & Apoc Plates.

That would be brilliant to play

Oh god you have no idea, so many things died that first turn, I swear it went from 10k vs 10k to 10k vs 7k in that Cron player's shooting phase.

1000pts of Penal Legion, Hydra's and Straken winning a county Tournament, 60 Penal's ran through 60 Ork Boys and 9 Killa Kans in the 1st game. Took on a Tyranid Tervigon army. No idea how he won this one. And finally came out on top of a 30 man strong Khorne Berzerker army of all the things!!

Besides that there are plans for 12 of the new Exalted Seeker Chariots in a single 1750pt army...

In 6th edition that's true. In 5th edition they were a helluva lot meaner...

Worst 'Troll Army' I've faced? Okay it's a Fantasy example, but the total wipe who pulled out a 24 power dice Daemon army which also included 12 Flamers AND a Dark Insanity 'Thirster.
Game lasted all of his first turn and I had almost no models left due to about a dozen or so castings of flickering fire, both Flamer squads rolling up 20+ shots each and then the 'Thirster smashing my Grave Guard unit to fine powder.

And that was his 'friendly' list!

Some memorable Trollish 40k games have included;
- 3.5 ed CSM 'dex. IW's with 2x5 las/plas squads + 9 oblits + vindicator + 3 indirect firing defilers = not fun. Oh, and let's not forget being victimised by the 'Siren daemonbomb list' either!

- SW Thundercav list. Okay, I don't think they're OP or anything, rather it was the fact that the moron playing the army was a complete douchebag and he liked to cheat too!
His favourite "tactic" was to conga-line assault as many units as possible by maximising his 2" coherency... Only problem was, he liked to ignore the whole bit about you still having to get as many models into assault as possible and NOT being allowed to just leave most of the unit hanging back until pile-in moves.

- The GK hole who thinks he's the world's greatest tactician for warp quaking an entire table and thus preventing me from putting even 1 Daemon unit on the table.
Then using RAW to legalise juggling any rolling a 'misplaced' result between quake zones to give him a 50/50 shot at auto-killing every single one of my units.

- That same GK player pulling his warp quake BS on a 12 year old. (people like him need to just go burn in a car fire and die!)

Probably work

In 5th edition apoc with the old DH rules, I ran an entire army, 3000 points, of nothing but orbital bombardments.

We never actually played the game. I just showed my opponent the printed army builder list, suggested that there was the possibility that Apoc needed more restrictions than are supplied in the books, and then got out my real army list. We decided that it was actually a different but identical army on a different planet that just got hit with an extermanatus order.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
The other one that built but didn't actually run was entirely made up of Leman Russ turret emplacements. I forget the point value, but I want to say there were a good 30 or so in the list.
