Seconded.

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

Dubstep is this kind of mutation of electronic dance music that focuses a lot on ear rape. Imagine you're listening to dance music, then it starts stuttering, skipping like a bad CD, horrible shrieking sounds come out, and then you hear a bunch of deep bass noises that sound somewhere between a bass speaker through a wall and a speaker farting with feedback. It's been equated with Noise Marines because their weapon is sound meant to make peoples' heads explode, drive them mad, and so on.

As someone who enjoys electro and dance music, I don't see the appeal whatsoever beyond the shred of novelty there is to it. It's become a little injoke in the 40k community because of Noise Marines though.

That's even more insipid and banal than I imagined.

So wub for the wub god to me makes me think of ponies or some gak.

More or less the same thing in this case wub as in dubstep or love really. Wonder what would happen if they made a sonic weapon have feedback. Hopefully some delightful new land raider variant.

Dubstep just makes everything more intense. We watched people eating some Korean food where all you could hear was a Skrillex*** track and it was edited with jump cuts. It was amazing. Dubstep is like a "make everything more awesome" button for mundane activities.

I think I called Skrillex dubstep once and a dozen people violently corrected me that he isn't dubstep, but rather 'house'. Apprently there are no 'wubs' in his music.

Whatever its called (like there's actually a difference), its terrible.

However, the wub marines at least made me chuckle.

I haven't played DoW2 but are all characters like the noise marines voice acting wise?

Noise marines make painful sounds. That's their whole thing. So I guess dubstep isn't too far off.

Doesn't have to be painful. Could be pleasing or enraging or hypnotic.

I see where you are coming from, it being Slaanesh and s/he is all about indulgance. But they are described as “deafeningly loud, psycho-sonically and pyrotechnically explosive attacks."
The Sonic Blaster with "It produces waves of devastating sound which can rip targets apart."
the Doom Siren as "The device is made up primarily of an arrangement of tubes which amplify the war cries of the bearer into a devastating sonic attack"
and the Blastmaster as "a throbbing bass note which is strong enough to burst eyeballs and rupture organs."

So unless the guy with the Doom siren is whispering sweet nothings into his weapon, there isn't much room for pleasing sounds in that armoury.
