So I was hoping that someone had some idea's or even make a tutorial on converting Sluggas to Shootas.

Well aside from just building them with the arms that come with a box of boyz depending on the type of model order the arm bitz from bits sellers and loop off the old arms.

What sort of starting model are we looking at, here? Assembled posable boyz? Unassembled AoBR boyz? Painted boyz? It depends on how much effort you'll need to preserve what's been put in so far.

I have a lot of assembled AoBR.

So ways of converting those would be good.

In theory, you just need to change the slugga pistol into a shoota. No one's going to care much about the axe in the other hand, as it doesn't affect the boy's stats, although you could also swap that hand for another doing...something (shaking a fist, holding ammo, whatever).

So the next point is - do you have a pile of spare shootas? If so, careful cut/saw off the slugga and replace with shoota, done.

If you don't have shootas, all is not lost:
- the back of a slugga looks much like a shoota, so you can just stick a longer barrel (from plastic tube of some kind) on the front
- or if your orks loot lots, also consider other shoota-ish weapons, e.g. marine bolters which have been badly repaired by meks and now count-as shootas.

Most people lop off the arms and replace them with the set meant for shoota boys, which can be purchased from bits sellers online. Converting the sluggas by extending the barrels is a cheaper option and adds some custom flavor, but it's less practical if you plan on converting a ton of models. Personally, I might shoot for a mix, both to save a bit of money (reduce the number of bits necessary for your given number of boys) and for the sake of variety.

I'd buy some plasticard tubes and just extend the sluggas to shootas. One of the simplest options you got...

You could always slap together some sluggas or extend the barrels and make it look orky.

I would just extend the barrel and magazine on the slugga. I might try this just to see how it looks.

ok, I tried it and I think it looks good enough for a shoota. You could do the same to regular shootas to make big shootas.
