Let's say you've got a great deal on a Stormraven (free) or a Stormeagle ($35). You've got enough models and a diverse enough collection that you can build lists that will use these models to their fullest. But you have to pick one. Which one is better and why?

Always go for the free. Especially since Stormraven is legal in most games.

Stormraven is legal in all games, storm eagle isn't.

Also free is good.

Yeah, I get that. I was more looking at which one do people think is better game-wise (does the most damage, earns back its points, can survive best, dog fight best, better synergy in a list, etc).

While I agree on BR being more "legal" than a BE, BE's are "legal" in more forces, so that's a draw there.

Storm Eagle looks about hundred times better. This should be an easy choice.

I am pretty sure that with a little magnetizing the Storm Eagle would be so more than sufficient stand in for a Stormraven. That way, if you are playing with someone or in a tournament that allows Forge World models you are good, and if not you still are. The fact that it is a better model is just a bonus

The storm eagle looks better, but I appreciate the storm raven's capabilities much more.

The storm eagles rear missile launchers are air to air only (good luck firing them at a ground target....)
