Simple question, if you Death or Glory and take out a vehicle who is in the act of tank shocking does it stop them from making their Deff Rolla hits? This happened today when a space marine DoGed with a melta and took out a battle wagon. The question came up because the DoG (as we did it) was before the Deff Rollas hits, so we played it as it stopped dead in its tracks and exploded. If the hits indeed do happen, that is fine, we just wanted clarification.

At the time it made sense that it stopped the tank because had the DoG failed the squad itself was taking 2x as much heat for their trouble.

Answered in the FAQ, page 4.

Q. Does a unit that successfully stops a deff rollaequipped
Battlewagon’s Tank Shock suffer any hits?
(p55)
A. Yes, it does. In fact, it suffers 2D6 S10 hits!

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Nope I'm afraid you played it wrong, as per the Ork FAQ even if you successfully stop the vehicle the squad still takes the 2D6 S10 hits from the Deff Rolla but as you said resolved after DoG

By the 37 keys of Tzeentch,We open the way for our brothers,
By the 1000 whispers of Slaanesh we call to them,
By the 12 plagues of Nurgle we fell their enemies,
And by the mighty axe of Khorne we cut open the world for them!

Note that even if the Deffrolla rules didn't explicitly state that you take the hits on a Death or Glory, the Deffrolla hits occur when a unit is tank shocked... and in order for you to perform a Death or Glory, the unit has to be tank shocked. Even if the DoG stops the tannk, the unit was still tank shocked, or the DoG couldn't have happened.

No, the unit takes 2d6 hits regardless of if the BW is stopped or not.

The only thing a successful DoG stops is a Ram and the vehicles continued forward progress. the Deffrolla still squishes all.
