If you take a Warboss it allows Nobz or Meganobz to be Troops. If you take a Big Mek it let's you take a Def Dread as Troops.

Are these Troops just for purposes of the FOC or do they also count as scoring units in games where troops are scoring units for purposes of capturing objectives?

yes they can score. I'm not sure about the Deff dread as i don't think that vehicles can score but the nobs for sure can

page 123 details what is a Scoring unit.

Dread no.

Vehicles can't score even if they are troops, though there is a GK trick that removes that limit...

But yes you can make Nobs and mega nobs scoring troops in your ork army if you want, one per warboss.

The real irony is that in Big Guns Never Tire, Deff Dreads can score if they're Heavy Support but not if they're Troops!

For that reason, now more than ever it's important to state which slot the unit takes on the army list.
