Subject: bleached bone less... bleached?

So, I ran out of bleached bone last week, and picked up a pot of what GW claims is its replacement - Ushtabi Bone. I finally got around to using it, and it doesnt' actually seem to be the same color. Like, it's a close match, but it's not an exact one. The new bleached bone seems darker and yellower than the old.
Am I just talking crazy, or has anybody else noticed this? Have there been any other slight changes between the old and new colors that anybody has noticed?

No idea. I've been using Vallejo Ivory + Sepia Ink for my bleached bone, gives me control over exactly what hue I get.
Yea, thats not a helpful answer at all, is it.
my bad.

The new color does appear lighter. But I've always built my bone colors up from a brown, and washed as needed. With that said, I really haven't seen much of a difference between the two.

The difference between commitment and involvement is like eggs and ham; the ckicken was "involved", the pig was "comitted".

I wanted a new pot of Bleached Bone, and when I looked at Ushabti, I couldn't quite figure out why it was its replacement - totally different colour. I went for Screaming Skull instead as it seemed to be more of a match. A bit lighter, but for bone, that's not too much of an issue.
I'm not sure I'm a fan of the new paints yet (yes, I know I'm taking my time to decide!). Some of them are brilliant - Skink Blue is awesome, but I'm not quite sold on the others...

Its darker... I guess because they now offer screaming skull too which would be its highlight colour.
The new citadel paint range looks to be designed to not involve much mixing compared to the older range and to achieve this they have made dark, mid and light tones of many colours that we used to only have one shade of. hence the total number of paints available shot up a lot.

None of the new paints are an exact match. Different paint formulas not just new names. It really sucks for anyone that was in the mid of painting an army with GW colors.

Is Vallejo's Bleached Bone equivalent nearer? I use Bleached Bone a lot and I'm little by little turning my paints into VGC/VMC, and since Bleached Bone is the main color of my army that's the one color I don't want to actually change. Shame the new supposedly equivalent in GW's line is not really an equivalent.

I don't know.
I've been slowly switching over to vallejo as GW keeps doing me the discourtesy of discontinuing colors I use on my guardsmen. I'd rather not switch over for bleached bone if I don't have to, as this color is one I use for my bases, which really rather requires a proper flip-top pot.

Just grab the Coat D'Arms equivalent; bone. Should be more or less the same.
This also usually helps a bit.

The paint compatibility chart is just an approximate. You need to really see the paints in action if you want a 100% compatible paint.
Coat D'Arms deters me since I can only order them through the internet. Since I only want one color and our shipping and handling can be quite a bitch, it's not really optimal.

Is it just me or is the new Boltgun Metal vastly different? (and not in a good way)
It feels less like painting a smooth dark metal 9more grey, less metal flakes) and more like slathering on goop with too much silver glitter in it. I'm going to be applying a lot of wash.
