I was reading a BL book where a SM Speartip landed on a plague moon and got to thinking: what could be worse than this?
So here's my scenario:
You are a Space Marine in a tactical squad. All you know is you are dropping onto a planet overrun by cultists and traitor Guardsman. As you tighten the restraints on your seat in the drop pod what Chaos God are you hoping NOT to face the followers of?

Thank you! I was hoping someone would say Tzeentch. Probably the most subtle of the Gods. Plague zombies and berserk chaos marines you can see coming. Suddenly thinking your sergeant is leading you into a trap and needs to die is worse. Also why is my hand mutating?

I recall a SW book where Ragnar and his buddies were running a nasty fever and their senses were weakened by Nurgle. I think a prolonged campaign against nurgle and his leprous kin would suck. It would be next to impossible to get IG backup as they would get sick nearly immediately.

Khorne would be swift; he'd just lop your head off and that'd be the end of it.
Nurgle would be unpleasant but it'd get better; once the transformation into a sack of pus is over, it'd be painless.
Tzeentch would be bad; all sorts of unpleasant mutations and mind manipulations.
Slaanesh would be by far the worst; if you're taken alive (which you will be), you'll get fethed up.

Gotta go with the others who've said Tzeentch.
The fact that you are even there, fighting the battle, means that everything is going according to plan...

It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised. |

Canoically, Tzeentch's plan can be disrupted by...
Nurgle, the Emperor, the Deceiver, the Laughing God and I'm sure some other stuff.
Otherwise he would be ruling the entire galaxy by now.

Sorry to use this reference but Tzeentch is like the Joker from the Dark Knight. It exists to disrupt the plans of others. It has no goal only plots. There is no endgame just the game. Tzeentch just wants to play for eternity.
To be in direct opposition to Tzeentch would be hell. You couldnt trust anyone as anybody could be a pawn. You'd have to be cut off completely from the immaterium as one freak warp storm could cripple you with mutation. If all else fails an army could be misdirected into invading your hidey-hole.
Slaanesh would be pretty awful as well. Getting on its bad side would be a first hand education in torture. The worst thing that would happen is that you'd be forced to endure pleasure so extreme that the rest of your life would be spent chasing that high.

Tzeentch. Never that one. Khorne would be fine as they just charge in and at least you see them. Nurgle and Slaanesh too pretty much bit in a different manner. But Tzeentch... there is no way to know what kind of stuff they'd be pulling off.

Honestly, Khorne. Khorne worshipers stand the highest chance of taking down a Space Marine, and dying at their hands would be pretty painful.

Tzeentch can't be that bad to face if it is within a single space marines power to kill and replace him.

Tzeentch. Even knowing you're facing Tzeentch would lead most to be suspicious of anything and everything. And I'd imagine it be like trying to fight water. You grab at it, it escapes. You punch it, it moves out of the way. There is no equal and opposite force. All it does is change and adapt.

Khorne would be the one I would dread fighting, why? because a whole world overrun by crazed cultists and walking tanks with chain axes tends to end painfully for someone. But the lord of change is also something I would not enjoy fighting, because I like to stay untainted and mutation free
