Thousand Sons Battleship wandering the galaxy...

TBH, I don't have the time (or patience) at the moment to wade through all my BL novels and codex PDFs to find a vague reference to Eldar traversing the Warp in an Imperial vessel...so my question is...is it possible? Will the Geller Field provide sufficient protection or will their souls still be ripped from their bodies the moment the ship enters the Warp?

BTW, this assumes a Rogue Trader/Inquisitor allowed the Eldar (who had no other choice) aboard the ship in the first place, so no "...but Eldar would never board or be allowed on an Imperial ship..." and so on.

I should have left him there. He had served his purpose. He owed me nothing - yet he gave himself to me willingly. Why? I know not. He is nothing more than a pathetic human. An inferior race. A mon-keigh. But still I broke off my wings so that I might carry him easier. I took him from that place, into the snowstorm where our tracks will not be found. He is heavy. And he is dying. And he is slowing me down. But I will save him. Why? I know not. He is still warm. I can feel his blood ebbing across me. For every beat of his heart, another, slight spill of heat. The heat blows away on the winter wind. His blood is still warm. But fading. And I have spilled scarlet myself. The snow laps greedily at our footsteps and our lifeblood, covering them without a trace as we fade away.

'She sat on the corner, gulping the soup down, uncaring of the heat of it. They had grown more watery as of late she noted, but she wasn't about to beggar food from the Imperials or the "Bearers of the Word." Tau, despite their faults at least didn't have a kill policy for her race.'

I assume that Eldar would be no different from other psykers in that regard. If the field falls ( and perhaps the pressence of a tasty Eldar might attract some unwanted attention to the traveling ship )
then everyone aboard is screwed but otherwise everything should be fine.

Yes, Eldar can travel and be shielded by a Gellar Field. The source you are looking for is the BL novel Farseer by Bill King, where some Eldar do travel aboard an Imperial ship. The trip was rougher than usual due to daemons being attracted by the bright Eldar souls, but they survived the trip intact.

AFAIR Eldar aboard Imperail starship were mentioned in Eisenhorn series - they were with Ravenor on his ship.

Without passion we'd be truly dead.

I can't think of a reason why the Gellar field would not preotect them

Then the spoonspork matrixes are drasticly slanted and no longer in equalibrium resulting in Catastrophic warp drive implosion.... Obviously. Call yourself a fluff nut.

IIRC Farseer has been put into that 'Heretic Tomes' category, even though its technically not all that inconsistent (no worse than the Inquisiton War novels or Eye of Terror, both of which are far more inconsistent with modern fluff than Farseer, but eh.) but if you're going to use that, there's a built in reason why the Eldar would not like to use warp travel (even if they theoretically can.) Eldar are vastly more powerful psykers than humans on an individual basis, and they're all basically psychic to some degree IIRC. Thus while they can be 'shielded', they still seem to be easier to detect onboard ships than humans are and make more tempting targets, Darke's starship in Farseer was subject to greater punishment and predation by warp creatures precisely because of the Eldar onboard, IIRC. Given that, and the Eldar's fear of being consumed by Slaanesh, they are averse to Warp Travel except in the most extreme circumstances.

More to the point, IIRC Farseers could act as a Navigator after some fashion (more akin to the way Chaos Sorcerers can) but they're still not as good as an actual Navigator, so the distances they could travel (and the speed they make) probably is not as good.

I also suspect the Eldar have very little reason to travel anywhere they couldn't reach by webway anyhow, they actually have little interest in the affairs of other races except in the sense it impacts them (or their territory).

Eldar would have a chance of survival but also a chance of death, probably, if they used the warp instead of the webway.
