Looks awesome. Only thing I could suggest is edge highlighting the carapace.

What was your process with the skin (And what paints did you use?)

My reaction was to take said die, and hurl it out the window of the 3rd floor of our student union. I then placed a Commissar model next to the rest of my dice pile. They immediately began performing much better.

Thanks! And that's a good idea! D:

The old Gryphonne Sepia, old blood red (the carcass you see in the background), carroburgh crimson for the tongue and white scar for the teeth as well as golden yellow.

Just a tip - Vallejo Bloody Red is about a 99% match to the old Blood Red. It's slightly less orange, more pure red, but it's closer than any other red on the market, even from GW's new paint line. You also get more in a bottle for less than a GW pot. It's worked wonders on my Behemoth Nids.

Thanks! If I ever paint more nids I'll probably order some. I've heard good things about them, do they mix well with the GW stuff?

Awesome paint job, but I second the highlighting on the carapace, would make your model stand out alot more! And I have Vallejo paints myself and they mix quite fine with GW paints

I've never needed to make a mix with vallejo and GW paints, so I'm not sure. I can't imagine it'll do anything other than just mix the shade though.

Finland... the country next to Sweden? No! That's Norway! Finland is to the east! No! That's Russia!

That looks really good for your first monstrous creature!
it looks like it could eat anything that comes in it's way

Sweet Jesus, Nurgle and Slaanesh in the same box!?
No, just Nurgle and Slaanesh, Jesus will be sold seperately in a blister.

Awesome smooth even paint job, but as its been said before, that carapace needs some highlighting, also, maybe those leathal talons could have some detailing? Looks fantastic keep it coming!
