I was wondering if it would be fine to have a counts as army. What I want to do is make an Alpha Legion army but get all the cult marines and such but, still have an uniform army.

As long as you told me what rules they were using and it was clear what units where I would not care at all.

Blood for the bloo... wait no, I meant for Sanguinius!

So you want plague marines and what not, but they'll all be looking alpha legion-y? You just have to make sure that they are different, and clearly fill their role.

For example, beserkers wouldn't need a beserker helmet (because it isn't alpha legion-y I don't think), but give them all running/hacking poses and axes and what not. They can be dark blue/whatever, with normal marine helmets, but you have to make sure when the opponent looks at them, they don't look like your regular guys.

I wish I had time for all the game systems I own, let alone want to own...

I was wondering if this would be okay in a tournament or not.

Depends on your TO really, but if its done well, then there shouldn't be a problem

As always, apply the "Rule of Cool"

The cooler it looks, the cooler it is (and people will be cooler about it)

Use rule of cool, and check with your TO. As long as it's clear what they do, it should be fine.

That said, any mini should work for alpha legion, cause EVERYONE is Alpharius

So long as everything is WYSIWYG it's generally fine.
Ultimately, yes the rule of cool applies and of course if you put the effort in to make it look good, and ensure everything has the correct options I doubt anyone will have a problem with it.

This is a tricky subject. Personally I would just run a vanilla SM list and paint them Alpha Legion style, but infiltrating chosen seems to be a tactic that works fluffwise. I dont see AL running daemons and other chaos gobbeldygook. I dont see them rocking horns and chains and crap. They all have the same uniform, same face, and only claim chaos for their own ends. I really doubt theyre tainted.

Think about it more creatively. The Alpha Legion is devious.

What about combat crazed forbidden AIs they discovered, that can count as beserkers?

Or Chaos Ogryns as plague marines?
