I read this on facebook today from a post made by The Titan Manufactorium

The Titan Manufactorum
Incoming news : Due to unprecedented circumstances, the Warlord commission will no longer be available (can anyone guess what they are? ). Fear not however, as a brand new model will soon be available.

Here is their Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Titan-Manufactorum/180410805366781

While I would really like to believe that this is an indicator of the impending release of a FW Warlord, I strongly suggest it instead is because GW has issued a C&D over the infringement of their IP.

I have heard before that there is a FW Warlord in development, and that it will be an updated MK 1 "Beetleback" similar to the attached image.

And this means there is a new Forgeworld Titan as opposed to just GW protecting their IP as per normal?

Ummm...isn't that what I posted?

Sorry...just to clarify, I'm "value-adding" to the original post re the info about the Warlord (that is legit, FW do have one in production...), but I think the Greek guys being shut down is sheer IP protection.

Yeah I'm in the "Business as usual for GW Legal" team here... I doubt they'd ever release a warlord kit.

So, assuming we do get a FW Warlord, what kind of price point are we looking at here? Cause I could see a a 4 foot tall "miniature" breaking the USD$2000 mark.

$2000 for just the body, Weapons will be $300 a piece for the small ones and $400 for the larger arm mounts.

Sufficient paint is available shipped with the unit but you'll have to call FW's new mortgage department directly and pass a credit check...

I myself would of been happy with a 400$ one from TM. i really liked the model, but being i have only played 3 Apoc games in my 5 years of playing warhammer, did not see the value in it. A shame as for sure the FW one will cross the 1k$ mark. Which..if put into perspective..you could buy a used old beater car that actually runs for that much haha.

Isn't that a Reaver titan?

When I was at the Forgeworld seminar at Gamesday 2011 in the UK, When asked if there would be a Warlord Titan in the future they did say there will be one sooner or later.

agreed, this was tabled at the FW open day and they said they were going to get round to it at some point, they said they want to release a titan every three years so wouldn't hold my breath

Hope it helps?

The sink.

Well the FW Reaver currently costs over $1000 so I think a warlord could easily break $2000. Think of the profit margins and happy share holders!

My money would be on the body being the same price as a Tau Manta (£960), plus 4 weapons the same size as the Reaver versions. That puts it at around $1800. What a bargain!

Have a look at the head(s), four weapon mounts and weapon options...

BTW, projected size for a Warlord is 23 inches tall by FW scale.

I would agree with the $1800 approximation...

My question is weight, Reaver is heavy enough for a brittle resin model.

Warlord is far too large a model for even FW's standards. Nobody would buy it either, as it'd probably be $1,500 for the body and $300 for weapons. You'd have to be mad to pay that for 1 model.

Some of those Japanese mecha models are about the same size, and go for that price or more.

The Viletide: Daemons of Nurgle/Deathguard: 7400 pts
Disclples of the Dragon - Ad Mech - about 2000 pts
GSC - about 2000 Pts
Rhulic Mercs - um...many...
Circle Oroboros - 300 Pts or so
Menoth - 300+ pts

It wouldn't be that bad. It uses the same weapons as the Reaver, and people buy those. The only difference would be the addition of one more Warhound sized weapon. As far as the body goes they previously stated that they were aiming for around 22 inches tall, give or take. That would make it have roughly 75% more resin than a Reaver. Not too bad. I'd guess that the price would be around $900 for the body, plus weapons. That's about the price of a Manta without all the bonus models.

Too large for fw standards? 23" inches is warlord size, the Eldar Phantom is 24" tall. This is completely in the realm of their doings.

Now Imperator size, thats beyond their standards.

@ Harriticus... just like the Tau Manta, eh? 25 Inches long, 34 inches wide, and 28 pounds in weight.

No, you're right, they could NEVER do a Warlord!

@ Rakear... Good pickup about the comparative size of the Phantom. About the Imperator though, if Armorcast could do it (and would have except their licence ran out ), then FW could do in Imperator, as long as they kept it in reasonable scale to the Reaver / Warhound etc.

I remember when these statements were made. It was WIll Hayse saying he wanted to eventually do a warlord but that it would be down the line. I figure a few years is enough of down the line here. He also talked about it being in the 24-25 inch range of height, which works considering that it would stand another 25%higher than the reaver even with it's top weapon.

Personally I'm betting on a $1500 price tag rather than the 1800 others have estimated. That would put the warlord at over 950 GBP while the reaver sits at 571 and the warhound crouches at 317.

When this thing comes out (I"m willing to put money down on one eventually so it's not really an if) I plan on putting it on a base and planting it on the battlefield cause anything this big is gonna be a hazard to move.

Plus, on a typical 40K board, there isn't going to be any reason to move it - especially with the weapon ranges on this thing!

You have to think outside the box Brother.

Just dremmel out some holes in the base and insert sunken castor wheels.

Then you can roll it around, turn it in place, etc.. have to make sure you have LOS and weapon arcs facing the right direction to deliver death.

Pretty sure you could put it at one end of the store and wipe out every army on every table before anything but IG artillery got in to range.
