Thought i would set this up with a week to go. Anyone who listens to Worlds End Radio or knows me at all  will know i have been selected to play Dark Eldar for the Australian Team at this years ETC.

The event pits 20+ (26 i think this year) teams of 8 players from around the world against each other over 6 rounds to find the best 40k country for the year. This year, its being held in Poland and is the first year Australia has sent a team.

Due to the timing of 6th ed release, the event is playing 5th ed so we all know exactly what units can do. Its 1850 points and 1 force org chart.

So - on with the show!

Here is the list i am taking...

HQ 1: Asdrubael Vect
Elites 1: 3 Kabalite Trueborn, 3 Blasters riding in transport 1
Elites 2: 3 Kabalite Trueborn, 3 Blasters riding in transport 2
Elites 3: 5 Incubi, Klaivex Upgrade riding in transport 3
Troops 1: 5 Kabalite Warriors, Blaster riding in transport 4
Troops 2: 5 Kabalite Warriors, Blaster riding in transport 5
Troops 3: 5 Kabalite Warriors, Blaster riding in transport 6
Troops 4: 5 Kabalite Warriors, Blaster riding in transport 7
Troops 5: 5 Kabalite Warriors, Blaster riding in transport 8
Troops 6: 5 Kabalite Warriors, Blaster riding in transport 9
Heavy Support 1: Ravager, Flickerfield
Heavy Support 2: Ravager, Flickerfield
Heavy Support 3: Ravager, Flickerfield
Transport 1: Venom, Splinter cannon upgrade
Transport 2: Venom, Splinter cannon upgrade
Transport 3: Raider, Flickerfield, Shock Prow, Torment Grenade Launchers
Transport 4: Venom, Splinter cannon upgrade
Transport 5: Venom, Splinter cannon upgrade
Transport 6: Venom, Splinter cannon upgrade
Transport 7: Venom, Splinter cannon upgrade
Transport 8: Venom, Splinter cannon upgrade
Transport 9: Raider, Flickerfield, Shock Prow, Torment Grenade Launchers

TOTAL: [1847 pts]

I know the list will raise a couple of questions about the choices but will leave those to be asked Its pretty close to venom spam with my own twist.

Most of the other DE lists run a Baron/Hellion blob plus haemonculus, triple blasterborn, triple ravager then wracks in venoms... a couple are running WWP as well!

The event is this coming weekend (17-19 August) and i will post pics over the weekend alongside twitter feeds, audio and video via worlds end radio.

Couple of pics of my army following...

Australia will play... SWEDEN in round 1!

Sweden packs the following lists...

Grey knight (razorback spam with strike knights)
Tyranids (stealer shock)
Space Wolves (hunters and long fangs)
Blood Angels (Jump packs)
Necrons (Scarab farm)
Imperial Guard (mechanised)
Space marines (broad mix - semi mech)
Tau (ethereal?!?! plus 9 broadsides, crisis teams and kroot)

So a good solid mix of forces with some very clear team strategy. To me the nids and tau are counter lists with the rest being broad enough to counter or be put up.

If you are keen to know the goings on of the event - You can follow me on twitter @MikeBasc for updates over the weekend as well as pics or check back here though that will be the end of each day

Anyway - wish me luck!

You can view all the ETC lists here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1L3xWGhQGDLFSSWxmgjlzIWrDeIvhohJHJANV8QeeTD8/edit?pli=1

@ jy2: I don't know who Aussies are worried about but Poland, Germany, Sweden and USA have been strong every year.

@ Massaen: If we play against each other in the ETC, team Finland will kick your ass!
