I agree with Overlord, the model would definitely benefit from some more detail work (eg exhaust pipes), the build however is really nice

Is that an iron warrior baneblade? If so it definitely needs hazard stripes. (Also nice work - I really like the coaxial autocannon)

Did you know? The Reach belongs to the Forsworn.

Good looking blade. I like the dust weathering around the tracks. It looks more like it has been traversing through a ruined city with the grey color.

Thanks chaps. I will give you a few answers.

The extra colour. I have deliberately made my chaos stuff really dull and quite plain. Of course then men are more broken up with more black but the tanks are fairly flat. I did this as I wanted the army to have a proper grim dark look to it which is another reason why they are dark brown washed instead of just clean black. When the army is done to this standard I may add more detail.

Iron warriors. The army was not meant to be Iron warriors which is why there are no stripes. They were meant to be blood disciples which are one of the renegade marine chapters. However I have decided that when the new codex comes out if it is any good unlike the current dex which is a pile of crap I will give them some stripes and have them as dark warn iron warriors. Got to see if GW has the ability to make a decent codex first and I aint holding my hopes up.

I will add some dirt to the pipes at a later date when the army is playable.

Thanks everyone for the feedback I do listen and like to try give you reasons for things and improve where you point out I can.

Same here. The use of a white/grey weathering looks very good !

Both look amazing, dark and menacing just like they should be. The defiler is perfect but I think the Baneblade could do with getting a few more details picked out [pipes etc.] at the back - however awesome models, looking forward to more.

I had the idea to so that with my Defiler but I couldn't find any picture to see how it would turn out. Yours looks awesome, where did you get the extra Dreadnought Close Combat Weapons ???? and how did you attach them??

Right. The defiler is made out of 2 defilers.. You build both the hulls. Then cut one hull just behind the hatch and vice versa then mount them together which gives you a hull with 2 hatched and 6 leg joins. You cut the front claw joint of the spare front hull and stick them onto the weapon mounts of the gun turret. This allows you to stick in the 2 spare close combat arms that you have giving you 4 claws and 6 legs. Its dead simple. I will take some pics of the unpainted one at some point to show you what I mean.

I will be adding dirt and stuff to pipes when the army is done to a usable standard.

Glad you are both liking the models.

I have just done a test base for the army and am now basing marines. Here is the test base.

I think this will do the trick.
