So this is something that comes up occasionally with my BAs and I can see becoming more frequent as I expand into a biker based force.

If your optimum threat range is close to the opposition but you don't necessarily want to get tied up in hth, what techniques could I take advantage of? Using area terrain strikes me as the only reliable way, and that's only reliable if it's available.

Suggestions anyone?

Overwatch maximization would be key as well.

Overwatch is great, but when you have an angry squad of assault termies approaching charge range, I wouldn't rely on it too much.

As long as you can move and shoot, I would work hard to keep an 18" bubble around devastating CC units like termies. Pick them apart from range or just ignore them as they chase you down fruitlessly and you shoot up the rest of their army.
