Can.anyone tell me what the 5.components this guy comes in? Would it be easy to convert him.to have the Cainfist and Combimelta from Chaos Termy Lord?

Here is the model in question

Be careful with that miniature. It looks a bit like one of the old metal termies which were smaller than modern day terminators.

Meh. I'm sure no one will question it. I will be rarely fielding it anyway, its just for collection.

Catachan

He comes as

body
storm bolter arm (shoulder joint)
power sword and hand
banner pole
banner crossbar and emblem

If you don't fit the banner there is an annoyingly large gap in the top of his back you will need to fill in.

Templars - 4500pts
Excoriators - 1500pts

He converts up pretty well though... put an iron halo (from the terminator kit maybe? I forget where I got this bit exactly) in the slot instead of a banner, and put him on a bigger base so he doesn't look smaller next to the others. Here's my terminator captain -

Whilst he does date back to 3rd edition, he's a "contem0porary" sized terminator figure. He's "new" terminator sized as he's wearing "new" terminator armour (with the hip shields) and is larger than the older RT through to 3rd edition termies plastics and metals - Deathwing and Wolf, specifically).

He's finecast now, so easier to modify.
You can saw the hand and stormbolter off the right arm (gun, hand and arm is all one piece).
You should be able to cut the left arm off at the elbow joint and graft on a left hand lightning claw (or at worst, just below the shoulder pauldron.

From. feedback it seems he is pretty easy to convert up. So after I pick up a Chaos Lord for this month I'll get this guy. Saw off the Sword arm at the shoulder, and the Stormbolter arm is apparently a single piece, so just add on my Chaos style Chainfist and Combimelta. That leaves me his Stormbolter arm and sword hand for bitz and I may be able to salvage the arm.if I cut it cleanly.

Another question. How easy would it be to get rid of that head? I don't really like painting skintone and am not very good at it so removing this head, and I can hopefully pick up a spare helmet from a bit box of a friend. If not I could use a spare GK Termy head. Scratch that, straight up GK head.

maybe the finecast won't be so bad, but I would never attempt to remove the head from the metal model.

its in there pretty good.

It's part of the torso.

Can you remove it intact without damaging the rest of the body?
No.

Can you remove the head and leave the body intact? Yes.

I drilled mine out. With my trusty 12v cordless drill and the model clamped into a vice (it was metal, and my dremel won't go large enough with its chuck).
Starting with a 1mm bit and moving up to a 5mm in 1mm increments, and then finishing off with a round milling bit to end up with a 'socket' large enough to fit a "standard" marine head, including neck plug.

Stage 1-3 (1-3mm bits) was drilling through the face to get enough scoop for the back of the head to fit.
Stage 4 (still using the 3mm bit) was a more vertical drill to make a socket for the head stub to fit into.
4 and 5mm bits removed the rest of the head and made a nice concave space to fit a head and allow for some rotation for posing.

Should be easier with FC as it's as soft as cheese-in-a-can.

Hm. Looking at.your pic, Horst, maybe a hobby knife with a fresh blaxe would get it out. I used that knife when new to slice resin sprue pretty easy. But how would I file it out?

Edit-never mind. Got ninjafied. Interesting. I was thinking drilling.might be best. I would need to pick up a drilland drillbits though. Are you certain I can't get it with a knife?
