So, Im going to roll with SM libby (again as in 5th) in new adition... While it was simple enough to pick two powers in 5th, now it is quite more complex but more adaptable...

So I play my libby with 5 tactical termies, one with cml and one with cf... For powers I take gate of infinity and am still pondering about second one, bit thinking of taking null-zone... What I'm pondering about is when to change my powers (sacrificing goi for cool new powers) and for which...
I play agains three armies mostly... Here they are:
Eldars: List contains eldrad and farseer (with psychic protection, so libby has little to do) backed with squad of warwalkers, vypers, nightspinner, dire avengers in serpent, fire dragons with serpent, jetbikes and rangers... Thats about it, each mentioned one squad...

Orks: three battlewagons with boyz, nob bikers with bike warboss (though small unit), rokkit koptas, dakkajet and 3 small units of lootas...

Necrons: ccb lord, doomscythe, 2 anihil barges, 40 footy warriors, two ghost arks, crypteks and scarabs

So what would you take against each army? I know it makes small diference against eldars, since now i have 4d6 psychic tests:p
But orks and crons intrest me a lot... Stick wih goi or take new powers? And if later is a case, which?

I would still take gate, all the time.

Does the rest of your army need a role filled? You have all your bases covered?

Null Zone is a good default power. It covers a large chunk of the board, and there is usually something with an invuln save that needs to be killed.

Machine curse might be a good call with all those vehicles out there.

Smite is a good staple shooting power.

I'd take Null Zone all the time, and take The Avenger after that. That template attack is so good against a ton of stuff.

If you're taking him in TDA with a SS, giving him GoI is a good way to get a squad of Termies around without buying them LRs. But on a bare Libby, it's Null Zone + Avenger for me.

If you take any of the rulebook powers, you have to swap all your powers for them. You can't one of each Codex and Rulebook(I know, I wish I could. My GKs would be so happy)

As for what to take, Biomancy and Telikinesis are good main book lores. As far as the Codex goes, Null Zone and VoD if wearing TDA(and you should, with a Storm Shield)

He is without land raider... I know about powers, that is why I ask... I am thinking of machine curse as second power tbh... Will test it for sure...
As for other, I just wanted to know if you would exchange BOTH powers for something else...

Ironically in the west nullzone would be great at killing Eldrad but in soviet russia nullzone makes Eldrad great at killing.

I would take assault cannon rather than CML if you plan on gating around. It will do you more good.

I wouldn't really use powers against the eldar. 4d6 is just silly. Teleport down the librarian and beat the sense into the farseer.

Nullzone isn't so useful against orks. Though if you can get into cc with the nob bikers it'll prove its worth.

Anyway Vortex of doom. You are termy armour so it is worth the risk. It instant kills nobs, can easily break the horrible necron av13.

Very good question, it is tough.
