I was looking into teleporting some Terminators behind enemy lines and was thinking the following for their loadout:
Total of 3:
Combi-melta and Power Maul
Combi-melta and Power Maul
Combi-melta and Chainfist
It keeps the unit cheap and still able to apply hurt to not only vehicles, but also to MCs and other high T creatures. I lose some effectiveness against MEQs and TEQs, but still gives them some punch.

I'd go axe maul chainfist. From my termicide experience, sometimes they live, sometimes they don't. A surprising number of times they live. Do they have much effect? no. But mopping up one or two teminators scraping Leman russ paint with their power weapons in 5th was annoying. The axe will still let you punch up vehicles/MC's at S5, but also give you a surprising sting vs M/TEQ's. -edit- If your doing a very aggressive list, Icon's work wonders. I found them using them more often than I thought, especially when I fielded 2-3 termicide squads.

My pals almost always went with 4 meltagun DS terminators. Felt like they were more reliable that way, and they could continue to be a real tarpit or even threat to garbage in the vicinity if positioned right.
The power weapon question is a really good one! 4 axes or 3 and a chainfist would seem to be a threat to anything without serious weight of numbers or lots of ap 2. Less good at MC hunting though...

It's a suicide squad; I'd try and minimize the points wherever possible. Combi-Meltas and Power Axes, I suppose. That way they're flexible for killing vehicles or 2+ armor with a strength bonus. Taking a Chainfist doesn't seem like a terrible idea, but it is a lot of points for a squad that isn't concerned with survivability.

Without fast movers and icons they are sort of hit or miss. Its tough to get in combi-melta range with them and pretty easy to mishap.
I've had more fun footslogging my terminator squads across the field with reapers, making a nice assault screen for the obliterators. Its a lot of extra fire power on the table turn 1, and a lot more wounds for the enemy to worry about. The reapers can pop light transports or threaten monstrous creatures, and now with precision shots can even take out characters or special weapons.

A long time ago I stopped believing in 3x melta shots on a suicide squad. I agree with my pals in that, it needs to be a little more reliable, or have some cheap solid backup.

And space marine players wonder why I sigh and look wistfully at their MM landspeeders using locator beacons on drop pods in my lines to deepstrike. Oh how they don't realize how good they have it in some departments...
