Does anyone else think that it is time for black library to release a full novel from the perspective of an ork, all they have is a short story in Fear the Alien, and thats about a blood axe Kommando, the most un-orky ork in the entire universe

Orks have no sense of history, and are for the most part extremely ignorant about whatever enemy they're fighting, so every Ork-centric novel would pretty much be the same.

Or you could do it third person and like they did it in the first space marines battle: Aka translations into normal chopped sentences. I see the 'ork speech' as being them trying to speak gothic.
Try this few sentences on for size:
"Get over here." Boss Snikrot said to his second in command.
or
"That one isn't for the small boys." The warboss growled to his nob.
Its the inherent lack of formality that depicts ork speech, rather than the bad spelling or missing word. Even older/misused words like 'aint' could be used, if done with some flair.

Back in the Rogue Trader days there was a rule book called Waagh, the Orks. It had a good short story about a Gretchen and his pet Squig going about their daily adventures in an Ork town.
It was actually a fun read.

Going to say no. Even Deff Skwadron was a pain to read, and it was mostly in picture form.
As I see it, there are two ways it could go, and neither one is all that appealing.
1. Written entirely in Ork-speech. It's amusing for a while, but can you imagine reading 300 pages of it?
2. Ork-speech is converted to normal English. Much better, but then you kind of lose the whole character of the Orks, which comes out in their speech.
Kind of a lose-lose situation, in my opinion. Even as an Ork player, I couldn't get past the first few pages of the one form of Ork literature out there, and it was a freakin' comic book.

I think its a question on how you view Orks, I for example love Deff Skwadron and could happily read an entire book in the same style. I sadly can't think of many Ork pieces of story over the years, there have been scatterings of them in Epic, 40K and so on, but in my mind they have been excellent. I find the dark humour of the Orks quite enjoyable, and have in general been resistant to the idea of making them more grim dark. I used to love the humour and stories/fluff back in Ere We Go!, Waaagh! and Freebooterz and to me this was almost their pinnacle. GW has this weird we don't want to do stories about aliens, which is odd as surely fans of those races at the very least would be interested in picking them up. Eldar based stories are still pretty thin on the ground as well. So for me, yes I'd be interested, and would happily buy them.

Well if you like comics, I recommend Blood and Thunder ( by Dan Abnett and co.) The Ork dialogue is 100% Ork Speech, I found it hilarious if not a pain to read sometimes.
Perhaps an audio drama about the orks? That would be epic.

An ork story could be done, but I think it would have to be done from the point of view of Blood Axe or Freebootaz characters.
I had a draft of a short story that I was going to submit to one of Black Library's open submission events, but I never got the chance to refine it. This thread makes me want to revisit it...

There's a comic book Blood and Thunder from mostly the Ork perspective (technically, from a captured Guardsman who is watching Ork characters interact with each other). Not really black library though.

Deff squadron was a great read, and the ork speech in that was pretty subdued compared to most instances. Granted, these were flyboys, and somewhat smarter than the average ork, but still. Almost all the orks are perfectly capable of speaking in complete sentences as well, except for some of the crazier ones like killboy. If you wrote a book, it would need to be from the perspective of a doc, a mek, a warboss, or some other "intelligent" ork. Writing a book about the average lad in the trenches would probably have less variety.

Whats with all the herp derp about ork speech, I enjoy reading it, It could have a great story line, you could do a story about a warboss and many of the fun adventures that he has, I dont agree with making it a blood axe, how un-orky of you to suggest that , although being a freebooter ork player, I would love to see a story from the perspective of one

How about this: Ork-speech is converted to normal English when Orks are speaking among themselves, but left as-is when they are speaking to non-Orks.

How bout a book about a Callidus assassin that has to blend in and find a target.
Could explain through observation and mimicry, the goings on of Ork kuture on a particular world or rok.
I could get into something like that. I really don't think a book written in Ork "dialect" would be a good idea.

I had this book, it was great, if I remember rightly, there were quite a few stories in this book and they were all very good.
There was a story about a mek who invented gargants (sp?) which are stompaz now I'd guess, and how his invention kick started a waagghh.
There was another story that an ork was telling to his grot servants about a battle with squats.
I wish I could find a copy of this book, I'd love to read it again.
