afternoon all I searched but if I missed it then please dont hate.

Can a tech marine/Master of the forge use their Servo arm for the Hammer of Wrath attack?
So a model uses Hammer of Wrath at the models unmodified strength and at initiative 10
a Servo arm technically is part of the model but is considered a seperate attack at strength 8 and initiative 1.
Also the Servo arm entry ignores armour saves but hammer of wrath is treated as ap -.

This has never come up but im considering a Master of the Forge on a bike so am interested in peoples thoughts.
regards
The questions not well presented because I am having trouble describing it in my head so apologies.
grr

Hammer of Wrath attacks don't use a models equipped weapons, else necrons would get the +1 and +2 from various weapons.

I guess my question is, how does a tech marine get a hammer of wrath attack? I didn't think they got jump packs.

That guy must have a fancy back pack i mean servo arm and jump pack.
I'm going to say the arm modifies str and doesn't use the models base str so no no servo arm hammer of wrath

Bikes also give HoW.
Otherwise, Kevin949 has it.

Ah, didn't know the tech marines could take bikes.

BA techmarines can take jump packs instead of servo harnesses.

Unfortunately, they aren't independent characters, so they are useless.

They exchange their servo arm for a jump pack actually.

ta all. After re-reading it makes sense that the servo arm would be a modified strength

BTW I think a servo arm jump pack would look pretty cool, even if it is slightly cheating.

Iron priests on thunderwolves would get a HOW attack and a servo attack.
To the OP, they are two separate attacks with their own rules going off at opposite ends of the Initiative order.
HOW goes off at I10, Iron Priest goes at I1 with his thunder hammer and servo arm goes off at I1 but as per page 38 in sw codex the servo arm is resolved seperatly and has it's own strength value as a thunderwolf IP hits with S10 with a hammer.

It's not the size of the blade, it's how you use it.

Ok...I know. HoW attacks are separate from standard assault attacks all together, except they count towards assault resolution. It doesn't matter, in your case, that it is coming from a different model. Also, I didn't say they would get their regular attacks, I said the servo harness would benefit the HoW attack. Very different.

Also, I was not under the impression that wargear acted as it's own "thing" in close combat, I was under the impression they caused the wielder to go at I1 for all attacks. But I'll fully admit I don't know the IoM codex/rules that well. Especially space puppies since I never play against them.

The servo arm entry says that it grants a single extra cc attack, made separately at initiative 1 and strength 8. The Iron Priest is a bad example actually, I never field them but they have to have a thunderhammer, so all but their HOW attacks go at I1.
I was posting the HOW breakdown more in general to the OP.
