I have played in games that had 20k plus, never ran more than 8 or 9k myself, but if I were to throw my 4 armies out there I could prolly do 20K.

Games Workshop Victoria had something like a 50,000 point a side Chaos vs Imperium Christmas game that I took part in. Was pretty fun.

Change and change until Change is our master, for nothing neither God nor mortal can hold that which has no form. Change is the constant that cannot be changed.

No game of chess can be won without pawns, and this may prove to be a very long game.

Before apocalypse had its own rules we had what we called mega battles. Biggest was like 10 on 10 (maybe more) with a tyranid player deploying everything he owned from special drain pipe terrain pieces scattered around the table.

Each player brought a 3000 list and everyone who had a superheavy or titan brought it. Each side had at least 2 warhounds and a warlord.

All that on a 16 x 16 board took all weekend.

Played an 8K vs 8K the other night... probably the largest Apoc game in recent memory (3 Titans on the board and 7 super heavies).

At my FLGS we also used to call them Megabattles, our biggest one was the Necrons versus everyone else, more than 8K pts on a side.

In Apocalypse I've also played a 50K + a side game (unfortunately barely even getting through 3 turns.)

One on one, I did a 5K per side game once, Chaos(marines and daemons) vs. 'Nids.

I played an 8k vs 8k game a few years back when I still had my imperial guard.

I ran 3 companies of guard... a mechanized infantry company in chimeras, a leman russ company, and a baneblade super heavy company.

He ran a massive chaos army, with lots of everything.

It ended kind of like the episode of star trek "The Doomsday Machine"... I rammed a baneblade down his throat, and he popped it with a brass scorpion. Baneblade went up apocalyptically, killed the scorpion, which also went off apocalyptically. Between the two blasts right in his army, over half his forces died. The russes and remaining baneblades cleaned it up easily.

20k point per side megabattle at the height of Abaddon's 13th Black Crusade during the Eye of Terror Campaign. It got me into 40k and I've been riding the wave of that amazing summer ever since, through cost cutting, southern hemisphere embargoes, price raises, Iron Warriors and Grey Knights. The energy is about to play out, but a simple campaign set would drag me right back in...

That game was epic: fully modelled board, multiple bridges spanning several boards, BaneBlade duels between loyalists and traitors, a Thunderhawk, and Basilisks being out of range >.< 12+ hours of play.

The next one I played was about 14k per side, but I got to teleport my full Termie squad in an intersection and single handedly held up 6k points worth of advancing models due to the bottleneck. The other players on Order side wanted to bring in our other deepstrikers, but I promised them that Brother Captain Leonidas needed to be brought in, and needed to be brought in THERE. They gave in, mostly because I think the one other history buff there realized the poetic justice of placing that character at that point for that purpose no matter how hopeless it was. The squad was killed to a man defending that pass (of course) but not by the enemy. A bad deviation on a Bassie round put paid to them. I like to think that they called in "Danger Close!" on the Artie and didn't care about the odds, just walked those rounds in for as long as they could. It bought us time, and I couldn't have been prouder of anything else that happened that day. THAT'S cinematic!

6th edition lands on June 23rd!

Good news. This is the best time in the hobby. Full of promise. GW lets us down each time and we know it but secretly we're hoping that this is the edition that GW gives us a balanced game that can also be played competitively at tournaments. I'm loving it.

We did 16k each once, split between 4 players on each team and played over 3 tables, using home made rules for various methods of transport to move between the boards.

Solo or as part of a group? Megabattles, 40K on 40K, I fielded 6K in that one, two separate 3K IG forces. Solo, 5K.

I once played an Apoc game where my personal contribution was roughly 12-5,000pts.

I think it worked out at roughly 30-40,000pts a side, no titans, but a Baneblade or 2, a tank company or 2, a Tigershark AX-10, 10+ Hammerhead / Skyrays, 6 ravagers...

"normal" battle (no apoc units) was 3000 approx

My IG vs Slamanders with Blood Angels allies.
I was forced to bunker down in my corner with my Basilisks, Tanks, HW teams, and infantry and i pounded his forces relentlessly all while squads of troops went out and captured objectives while I kept anything else at bay. Best part was annialating a full squad of assault marines with 3 basilisk shots. I got the Equivilent of 30 wounds total (3 wounds per 1 wound model), dispite the fact that his men were totally screwed I let him attept 6+ cover saves and he got 2 but every single assault marine was blasted into oblivion.

Largest ever...
Apoc battle but we were not keeping track of points. It was more just "Bring everything you had" and fight.

Biggest Apocalypse game as part of a team: 17000 points per side mega-event in last year. That battle was a riot with 11 titans, 7 super-heavies and 7 Space Marine battle companies...

Biggest Apocalpyse game without team: 6500 points per side only four months ago. Scenario battle, Blue Star Alliance (homebrew fandex) vs Tau, destruction, mayhem and massive losses on the Tau side in every turn (the blue guys were halved in every turn... you can imagine).

My armies:
14000 points

I also have played an 8k vs 8k Apoc battle. It was fun except for that it started to take so long that we all kinda just called it. I suppose we should have planned for a 2 day thing.

Just played in a 14k on 14k battle yesterday. That being the biggest I've done ever. Up until that it was only 2k per side being the largest. Now I really wanna play a 3k on 3k game cause I realized without much effort I can field almost 4k with just my models.

I've done the 10K Waagh! twice. The last time I had to reserve models because they wouldn't all fit in the deployment zone.

The 12K Waagh! I'm planning will actually use fewer models than the 10K Waagh!.

The largest game I know the points of was 10,000.

Many years ago, when I had only been playing for around 6 months, I was in another Appoc game. I know it was bigger then 10,000 but I never got the point total.
