I saw an argument in another thread about this CSM Warband because they are featured in the new starter box set. And the argument was over what god/gods this warband is dedicated to either Khorne or do they do the whole chaos undivided thing?

With the name Crimson Slaughter I think personally they are worshipers of Khorne but I would love to know what you think.

Crimson Slaughter are a new Chaos warband featured in the Dark Vengeance boxset. They're probably just Chaos Undivided.

Why do you think they're followers of Khorne? Is it the colour scheme similar to the World Eaters, or the complete lack of Khornate iconography with the starter set?

Funny, I thought since they were Crimson, and had cultists, they might've been a Word Bearers off-shoot. So Chaos Undivided, I guess.

For that matter not enough skulls to be Games-Workshop

I'd assume they were undivided, on the basis that it makes the starter set easier for new players if they don't have to worry about marks/icons etc. Plus it doesn't reveal the way they work in the new Codex before it's released

They sound as violent as some other Chaos warbands, like the Red Killing, or the Scarlet Massacre, or the Ruby Carnage, or the Geranium Abrogation. I figure they're Khornate as a knee-jerk reaction based on the simplicity and total lack of subtlety in their name.

Though when this particular warband of red-hued reavers were first mentioned, my thoughts turned unavoidably to Monty Python's accountant-pirates, the Crimson Permanent Assurance.

This is correct. Khorne would require many more skulls.

They're obviously minions of what ever chaos god the Blood Angels follow.

They really don't seem like any big deal skimming through the latest White Dwarf. They're Chaos Undivided, used to be known as the Crimson Sabres but the entire Chapter went rogue in M41. Not descended from any Chaos Legion.

They're fairly small and typical CSM warband.

We'll have to wait and see for the new codex, perhaps they'll be the new face for renegade chapters like the Astral Claws. I don't see why they just didn't use a well known Legion or Warband but them's the breaks.

I think making them the new face of the renegade chapters would be great. And they probably want to add some new flavor to the CSM so why go with something well know? The prospect of new fluff is kinda exciting to me.

They were cursed by Khorne to hear the voices of their victims from a campaign where they thwarted Khornate cultists. They can only stop the voices for a short time by killing. This makes me think that they are unwitting pawns/followers of Khorne, killing to try and stop the voices they hear.

I would like to personally think they are servants of Khorne but the markings unfortunately on the armor look more undivided. But as was stated they may be unwitting pawns to the blood god and not really understand it.

If anyone has the new WD it would be awesome if they would give us a fluff rundown for the Crimson Slaughter because I keep hearing there is a great article in there.

It also says they were cursed by Khorne to hear the voices of those they have killed unless they keep killing.
Which would imply a khornate warband of sorts...
