I was up in my loft seeking some old books that my nehew wanted... blah blah... anyway, I came across an old box containing some mini's;

One side of the box has quite a few of the real old plastic fantasy skinks and saurus warrirors... boring, but this side I found a fresh squad of Swooping Hawks, a Grav Platform Weapon and crew, a marine bike that has seen better days, and... Colenel Shaeffers Last Chancers I remeber only being 14 when I painted those, boy was I pleased with them, but looking at them now... I just chuckled and smiled good times!

Anyone know if there are still any rules in circulation for the Last Chancers? They had that white dwarf issue years back that made them nigh on invincible for facing full armies on their own. Good for giggles basically.

Even if I can't play them, I'm still going to strip them down and repaint, results to come .. sometime (I'm slow nowadays)

'Ain't nothing crazy about me but my brain. Right brain? Riight! No not you right brain! Right left brain? Right!... Okay then lets do this!!

The only way to find thier rules is to look up the proper codex/wd online and either find a pdf or something on ebay.

The Last chancers exist now only as "penal legion" convict troops in the Guard codex.
I don't think they can take any heavy weapons anymore though.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

Penal Legion troops have lasguns only these days. However you could make a neato kill team out of them quite easily.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

Random one biker there.

My reaction was to take said die, and hurl it out the window of the 3rd floor of our student union. I then placed a Commissar model next to the rest of my dice pile. They immediately began performing much better.

Looks like you had Azrael at one time, his Watcher helmbearer is there.

I love the Last Chancers. Look for the old Chapter Approved books. The rules are in one of them, memory escapes which one.

Thanks for the responses guys.
Kind of a shame they dont have any rules to maintain the characters in the newer codexes then :(
Never mind, they shall be a shelf piece then!

Yes the one random biker... looking at him i gather he used to have a banner pole, I once had an all bikes Ravenwing Army, which got sold off, except for this one it seems. The Azrael had his legs sawed off and was mounted onto a bike with a greenstuff cloak flapping in the breeze he was my force commander way back when they put rules for a Ravenwing biker force into a WD issue during possibly 3rd? edition
The same edition of 40k that had the last chancers with their chapter full of ridiculous special rules. xD
I'm feeling like selling the Swooping Hawks and Eldar bits n bobs (im sure theres a warlock and farseer kicking around). To maybe get a vehicle for the purple Space marines I'm working on.

I found an old squad of 2nd edition marines a friend of mine had painted a few years back in his closet, its always such a trip back down memory lane to see that stuff.
