Subject: A Homework assignment I feel like sharing.
So we had to choose a short film to write a review on, and we got to choose between the 1989 Balance, and the newish Covert Operatives. My class chose Covert Operatives, and out of curiousity I looked up the Balance video. Thought some of you might want to see it, so I figured I would post it up here:

I thought this vid was creepy and weird, and also not very good in terms of animation. I liked Covert Ops way more so I think it is obvious as to why that was chosen over this.

EDIT: I just looked up Covert Operatives...there's something wrong with you're class.
Or oh so right.

Honestly, if I had a choice, I would have changed my thing to Balance. We were only given the names, not what they were about or anything....

Spoiler:
Those five people are stuck on a platform that will tip over if it gets too heavy on one side. They work together to keep it balanced, and start fishing over the side. When one of them pulls up a box that only one person can be next to at one time, they start fighting over it, escalating the situation. Eventually one gets greedy enough that he starts offing the others, leaving him as the only one who gets the box. However, in order to maintain balance and not perish himself, he has to stay on the opposite side of it, meaning he didn't get it, either. Thus is a human condition; we want and want to the point of hurting others for it, but in the end, no one wins.

Loved it. Worth the 7 and a half minutes. Although i don't know why they didn't just slide the box to the middle of the platform. They all could have had a gander at it that way. Though as Amaya said, sums up humanity just right.
