Morning dakkanites
Right, I bought 4 lots of rhinos off the ebay yesteday and planning on buying a couple of the razorback style turret mounts from there as well, namely the assault cannon ones (not sure if i can link the auction as they arent GW). I was thinking of getting a few pred turrets and sponsors but I can only find the turrets on ebay from the US (i am in the UK), with the postage cost on top and the sponsor cost its around 25pounds which I can get a pred for nearly the same price so thats not worth it imo are there any other companies that sell turrets afermarket or gw? I did see a rather good looking home made turret on here but I just dont think I am that good enough to make one.
I was have also looked at the Hyperios whirlwind launch conversion kit from FW, are there any other kits like this out there?.
Am I right in thinking the Pred, Razorback and whirlwind are basically rhino chassis, is the vindicator one too? is there any kits for converting rhino to vindicator, I would like to magnatise or simular, everything so I can use them as any one of the above variants, I have seen one on ebay that has everything already so I think it is doable. That way I would be able to have say 2 rhinos, 1 pred and a razorback using the four rhino chassis.
Or should I just buy a couple of preds and a vidicator.
Also, the aobr dreads, how hard are they to convert the autocannon arms to go on, again Ive found a set of these on ebay and been offered a few aobr dreads at 10pounds but I am thinking it might be worth going that bit more and getting the normal dreads as then at least I will have more weapon options in regards to the arms fitting, would you guys say that is sensible.
Thanks!

I doing the same thing as you sort of. Whirlwind and Predator parts slot in/on the model without any need to magnetise. The Vindicator is more troublesome. A solution someone on here came up with for me was instead of making a standard Vindicator, magnetise the Siege Shield to the front as normal, but use a Leman Russ Demolisher turret for the gun.

GW makes a good AC turret for Razors in the LR Terminus Ultra pack, but that's expensive. Maybe try and find a discount reseller for the pack?

Bits and kits have the siege shield and battle cannon turret conversion kit for 10 for the both, would that do? http://www.bitsandkits.co.uk/vindicator-battle-cannon-convertion-kit-p-495.html http://www.bitsandkits.co.uk/dozer-blade-siege-shield-kit-p-491.html Thanks for the suggestion Blapblapblap!, the AC on ebay was 9quid or something, the terminus ultra kit is 10.25 and i am assuming I get a lot more then just the AC. I'll have a look into that Anything on the AOBR dreads? I can get the pred side sponsors for 10quid, any idea on what turret to use?

Hey Mark
There are lots of third party vehicle weapons out there, like those from Bitspudlo or Puppetswar just to name a few. Puppetswar has the Big Momma Cannon which will convert a Rhino into a Vindicator, and with a few magnets you should be able to attach it temporarily to a Rhino so you don't have to buy an extra chassis.
The AoBR dreads are pretty decent models. The pegs on the arms won't fit with other dread arms, but you'll want to skip the pegs and magnetize them anyway to let you swap weapon arms. Check out this article on From the Warp.

The cool thing about converting a Vindicator from a Rhino with a static turret to represent the cannon is the fact that they were represented like that in early Epic.

Pretty sure that Predator, Rhino, Razorback, and Vindicator all use the same base chassis, with other bells and whistles. A dedicated converter would be able to turn them into one another. And I always vote for conversion over buying new models.

The Vindicator is different because of the cannon. The others are the same, just with different weapons mounted.

I'm currently in the process of converting a razorback/predator/vindicator. It's very easy if starting from an unassembled box. Not as easy if the rhino's already glued together. I like the bitsandkits site but hey don't always have stuff in stock.

Luckly I have 4 rhinos on sprues for less then 14pounds each, I have found a site where the blogger made the vindi parts hot swappable, I have to buy side sponsons for the pred 1 and the vindi parts using the big momma cannon then I am ready to go!
