I looked on GW website and I think I saw the chapter icons raised on the plastic, has anyone else seen this?

Do you have any suggestions to fix this? I was thinking of just applying green stuff and flattening it out myself.

That would make them rather thick; a steady hand and an exacto-knife will have no trouble shaving the iconography off.

I would file them. You're likely to cut your fingers doing that much cutting...I would use some plastic cutters to clip the bulk off then file the rest

Unless you want those models in particular instead of mainly the small rulebook, sell or swap them for regular marines? People do that with starter sets all the time.

Same thing happened with the AOBR marines. Everyone had a raised tactical arrow which was a nuisance for anyone but vanilla players.
File em off, sand the area so it's smooth and paint.

I managed to remove the Tactical arrow from the Black Reach Marines with a hobby knife, i think the DA symbols should be easier to remove sine they are central, wile the tactical arrow was conected to the shoulder pads trim.
EDIT: The DA icons look MORE difficult to remove upon a second look. especialy those on cloth ares. Just gonna take a bit more patience!
I'm pretty sure it has been deliberatly done in order to deter(sp?) people from buying the box over and over and building up cheap armies as they have done with Black Reach.

At least the AOBR Marines had Coex markings, so most chapters could use them and not only the Legion of the Unforgiven.
