I was wondering if its ever a viable tactic to prescience a squad of snipers and intentionally move them to force snapshots. Thay way you're rerolling everything that isn't a 6 in the hopes of rolling more 6's. Thoughts?

Do precision shots mean that much to you? Usually getting more hits is what you need, especially as more hits means more chances to rend.
I suppose if you're shooting at 30 boys and want to get the PK nob then do it, but otherwise probably not.
I like your thinking though! could come in handy next time I'm playing orks (too bad vanilla SM can't get prescience )

You can't get a precision shot off of a snap-shot.
I like the thinking though. Exploiting mechanics is badass.

Might work for Eldar Rangers, where the 6 to hit gives you AP1. Otherwise it'll be a total waste of time as getting a 6 to hit doesn't mean anything if you fire a snap shot.

I've had similar thoughts about twin-linked Tesla weapons (if you roll a 6 to hit, they get 2, additional automatic hits).
The only time it's better to snapshot there, is when (for some reason) you specifically NEED the extra hits, but only a single hit is useless.
On a regular, twin-linked shot, your chance of getting the extra hits is 22%.
On a twin-linked snapshot, your chance of getting the extra hits is 31%.
So maybe if you're shooting at a vehicle with three hullpoints... and it's your last shot. But even then, the twin linked Tesla weapons tend to be at least Assault 4 anyway.
