So London 2012 hasn't finished and the second half kicks off tonight.
Just watching the opening ceremony and there seems to be allot more symbolism and artistry to this one rather than just rolling out another celebrity then another.
Reasonably interesting at the moment (20mins in). Only Stephen Hawkin and Ian McKellan so far and allot of interptive dance and music. Oh the Queen just turned up, no helicopter this time.
It looks like there is less "we are Britain" type stuff I suppose this is because it's supposed to be a continuation of the first opening ceremony.
Channel 4 coverage is not as good as the BBC though, too much talking.
Looks more muted but no less classy than the first effort. Hopefully it livens up a bit now Her Mage is in he house.

Didn't catch the ceremony -- Wed. night is toy soldiers night ! -- but glad it went well.
Ticket sales and general enthusiasm is pretty much unprecedented from what I can tell.
Good luck to'em all.
The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.

I'm also looking foward to the Paralympics, much more so then the regular Olympics at any rate. Didn't get to catch the opening ceremony though unfortunately because of a family function but i can't wait to watch some of that murderball. Love me some murderball.
Its a shame its on at like 5 in morning for us Australians. Means we have to stay up to watch or we have to watch the highlights later on.
Watching the day 1 & 2 highlights as i write this and i gotta say, those guys who swim missing a limb/s make me feel bad about myself. I have all four limbs and i can honestly say that i can't swim half as well as those guys do.
