Hey there, I just finished this piece, had lots of fun painting it. Makes me wanna paint more Ogres What do you think about the mini?

Looks good, nice use of paints

I really like the paintjob, but find the rider off-balance. It's a little distracting from an otherwise fantastic piece.

I love the brightness of the pants as a balance to the otherwise natural tones and rusted metal.

Thanks Riders position was intentional. I wanted him to be leaning over to one side like he was going to smash some heads with that sword thing. From some angles it actually looks very cool, from some not so much...

Just a small, quick update - standard bearer. what do you think?

Sure, I wrote a little article about that - http://aandrze1.blogspot.com/2012/08/painting-ogres-skin.html. It's a little out of date though. When painting the standard bearer I used additional layer of shadow to blend the shadows into a tan skin color better. The new layer is something between the first shadow and tan, 2:1 tan to blue I think. All the highlights are the same as in the article.

Thanks Yeah, it's freehanded, but first i draw the outline with a micron pen, then fill in the colors using a brush.

Those models look great, you might want a little more highlighting on the skin, but other then that they're awesome.
