For the first time in ages I've been all excited about the new 40k box, and like a giddy teenage fanboy I rushed over to the local store yesterday to get in for opening and bag me Dark Vengeance box set.

The Lord, Chosen and Hellbrute are in opinion some of the best Chaos models ever released and perfectly evokes the baroque imagery that has evolved from the hallowed Realms of Chaos books.

I already have a large Deathguard force, and fledgling (heresy era) Alpha Legion force, neither of which suit the look of the new plastics. However, I have another Chaos Space Marine army - the Sons of Malice.

My obsession with Malal began early in my hobby days through playing WFRP in the late 80s, where Malal was briefly mentioned and pictured. Over time I collected any and all info & publications regarding Malal (and later the Sons of Malice) and even put together a small website to share my findings - malal lives!

The Sons of Malice army began with the mighty 3.5 chaos dex, and grew in fits and starts over the years, but often was overshadowed by other projects and neglected for long periods of time.

The new models are the perfect catalyst to get this old favourite up and running again and I'm really looking forward to working on the Dark Vengeance stuff, updating/finishing some old bits, and when the time comes, adding new releases from the approaching 6th ed codex.
