Subject: Thousand Sons Successors, Possible? (forget it I'll just use Corteaz)

So my IG / GK army won't turn me into TFG in my meta (I just checked, it's very competitive) my ork and chaos project is on hold for now. However I don't want to use actual Grey Knights if I can avoid it. So I created a TS successor chapter called the Lorekeepers, I'm just worried that it's a bit of a fluff stretch.
Basically their story is that a clerical error caused what was supposed to be an Ultramarines successor to be give TS gene-seed. When the inquisition finds out there's a big debate as to what to do with them. They were going to be purged, until one senior inquisitor who never really played politics stood up and recommended the entire chapter be soul bound (I got the idea from the Dornian Heresy) Seeing as the senior inquisitor had trained many of the other inquisitors in the room, his word carried the weight needed to save the chapter. Part of the chapter likes to follow him around even though he's semi-retired out of gratitude, and the Inquisitor likes to travel with the son of the rogue trader who used to ferry him around. That's how I can have a unit of purifiers in my army, they're the inquisitor's bodyguards.
So too much, plausible, yay or nay?

I'd say it's definately plausible - in a bureaucracy as large as the Imperium's, errors happen.
However, I'd think that it'd be difficult to determine if it actually was the gene-seed of the Thousand Sons - if it were a genuine error then no one would bat an eyelid I would think.

No.
The Traitor Legions' gene-seed is locked away inside of a vault on Terra, which was locked by Malcador. We don't know how/when it can be reaccessed.

So an error as simple as a scribes chicken-scratch handwriting making XIII look like XV won't work? Well then it looks like it's back to Orks for me. Nothing ventured nothing gained.
EDIT: Wait a second, what about the actual grey knights, where do they keep their gene seed? Could the same kind of clerical error as typing 666 when you want to type 667 into a servitor's command interface cause this?
EDIT AGAIN: I'm just going to use Corteaz for the inquisitor and use henchmen and assassins like I originally intended.

And you belive that because they have a lot of librarians in their ranks or how easy they turn to chaos ? I' think TS are unique and they should stay that way....Maybe they are pooled geensed from 2-3 chapters with TS being one of them....

ADB: I showed the Wolves revealing the key weakness at the heart of the World Eaters; showing Angron that his Legion was broken and worthless compared to the others; that he was the one primarch who couldn't trust his own warriors, and that they didn't care if he lived or died; showing that loyalty to brothers and sons is the heart of success for the Legiones Astartes, to the point even Lorgar makes a big deal out of saying the World Eaters and their primarch were massively outclassed by Russ, and Angron was too stupid to see the lesson Russ had sacrificed time, sweat, and blood, to teach. We're talking about a battle the Wolves won, by isolating the enemy general through pack tactics, and threatening to kill him, without a hope of defending himself. It was a balance, 50/50 - Angron overpowered Russ, and the Wolves were losing ground to the World Eaters; but Russ and his warriors had Angron by the balls, and barely broke a sweat. They won, no question. Lorgar even says: "The Wolves won, meathead."
Dorn won’t help you either. He’s too busy being the Emperor’s groundskeeper, hiding behind the palace walls. The Wolf is too busy cutting off heads as our father’s executioner, while the Lion holds on to his secrets, and has no special fondness for you. Who else will come? Not Ferrus, certainly. Nor Corax either. Even as we speak, I suspect he flees for Deliverance. Sanguinius?’ Curze laughed cruelly. ‘The angel is more cursed than I. The Khan? He does not wish to be found. So who is left? Obviously if a beaucracy is guarding information, there's no way it could ever get out into the world. No way at all.

There is a theory that the Blood Ravens are successors to the 1k Sons.
Heck, if you wanted wanted to play a game against me with that army, I'd love it, as long as it looked cool.

Both that and because of what Guilliman was doing prior to the Siege of Terra - he was gathering loyalist survivors of the Traitor Legions - such as the loyalist Iron Warrior garrison of Lesser Damantyne - so the Fourth Fellowship's survivors could easily be among those gathered and hidden away within the XIII Legion. It would have been easy for Guilliman as Lord Commander to alter the records and pass the survivors' descendants off as Ultramarines.

I should have left him there. He had served his purpose. He owed me nothing - yet he gave himself to me willingly. Why? I know not. He is nothing more than a pathetic human. An inferior race. A mon-keigh. But still I broke off my wings so that I might carry him easier. I took him from that place, into the snowstorm where our tracks will not be found. He is heavy. And he is dying. And he is slowing me down. But I will save him. Why? I know not. He is still warm. I can feel his blood ebbing across me. For every beat of his heart, another, slight spill of heat. The heat blows away on the winter wind. His blood is still warm. But fading. And I have spilled scarlet myself. The snow laps greedily at our footsteps and our lifeblood, covering them without a trace as we fade away.

All I'm saying it's possibility...and let's stay there...(other says blood angel's are their parent's and etc.)
One thing bugs me - Chaptermaster Kyras + half of damn legion , went C-style and mighty =I= says kill him and all is OK....
and here's a old one - how the hell they can't remeber who is their Prirmach:-)Sonner they would forget their own names - - -- - Avitus

Probably because the Blood Ravens have certain 'assets' that the Inquisition doesn't want lost.

Go with your orginal idea Yeri, it's a great idea
|
in Inquisitor, a Space Marine can take a krak grenade, pull out the pin, eat the grenade, throw the pin, and the thrown pin will actually kill a normal man, whereas the Space Marine won't even have indigestion. This has actually happened in a game. Hell, a marine can throw his bolt shells and do more damage than by shooting his boltgun |
