I just want to weep with joy. New series of Dallas on Channel 5 tonight, 8pm
For the younger members on this site, the 1980s was a strange decade, but nations were unified by what was coming out of Texas. Texas was the place to be, everybody wanted to be rich, to be influenced by the styles, by the cultural giants of the lone star state. Some would argue that nothing has changed but one TV show defied the trend. It gave us a glimpse of the good life, and we wanted more. We enjoyed JR's plots and schemes, sympathised with his brother, Bobby, and we wondered if Sue Allen could get through a day without the aid of 5 bottles of vodka
I fully expect this new series to be a total let down, but I'm high on a nostalgia trip, and you're going to need a jumbo jet to bring me down

It's a continuation, not a reboot.
Kinda like "Dallas: The next generation".
We've had it for a few weeks now.
Oh, OP, it's Sue-Ellen, and always has been.
Wife has a thing for Patrick Duffy (probably from his "man from Atlantis days) so she watches it.
Same theme tune, same main actors (just soooo much older).
Lol. JR in a retirement home.

Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.
