This is the first miniature from the new Dark Vengeance box set that I have begun working on and the model itself is complete. However, it needs a base and I am at loss on what to do. Any suggestions on basing or comments/criticisms on the model are welcome!

He's looking great! Very neat paintjob, congratulations!
As for the base, GW used to have a great article on their site regarding "normal" bases... I might still have it somewhere. In any case, possibly a dark grey (starting with Charadon Granite?) or brown-ish?

I think the model looks great. Only critisism is the green on the chest should be darker (fluff wise)but for asthetic purposes I love the green you did use. As for the base, it depends on what you want. Sandy like a desert planet, greens and browns for swampy, greys and rocks for rocky and then there is still city themed. I did mine in browns. If you would like look in my gallery.

Wow, great paint job. Really nice smooth bone colour, and I really like the red casing for the assault cannon. I prefer the red over green that you see on their stormbolters most of the time. Really good job! Can I ask what recipe you used for the bone armour?
As for the base, since its a Terminator, Im more liable to suggest an urban or space hulk theme to go with him

Beautiful paintjob. Very neat and tidy.
As for bases, what about an industrial style base?

That very well may be the smoothest bone armor I've ever seen. If anyone ever claims that clean is boring, I'll link this guy to gainsay them. Gorgeous!

For the Shading between armour plates, what did you use? It definetly looks like bone, I like it!

Excellent paint job! As for the base, if you have a theme going with your other models, keep with it. Otherwise, see what articles and other suggestions you can dig up and go with it

Just another voice chiming in to say the bone on that is beautiful, any chance you could give a breakdown of the colours you used?

It would be great to know how you got the shale done, I've always had difficulty with my basing and you nailed it.

No problem! The stone is made from a piece of tree bark mulch, I picked up a whole bag from Home Depot for about $3. I glued it to the base and primed it black. It was then drybrushed with Codex Grey and Space Wolf Grey. I mixed some Burnt Umber pigments with water and added that to the stone.
The moss is made from mixing PVA glue with Woodland Scenics Fine Turf and the leaves are from Secret Weapon Miniatures.
