bit of a silly question, but...

I've got a largish collection of old GW paints that I'm looking to transfer into dropper bottles. I've done this with a handful of pots so far, but I feel like I'm wasting a good bit of paint in the process (all the stuff coating the walls of the old pot). even when I pry the lid off the old pot before pouring. anyone have any clever tips for minimizing the paint loss or is that just the way it goes?

Spatulas...

I use them to get all the paint out...or at least as much as I can. While it adds a bit to the overall cost of it (spatula, dropper bottle, original paint) - you are paying pennies for them. I use em and toss them, but you could very well wash them off and reuse them if you really want to pinch your pennies.

I just sat down at the table with some newspaper laid down and pored it slowly from a few inches above. Paint is nice and slow coming out of the pots. to get the pesky stuff that clung to the sides I used an old brush and encouraged it to the lip to drip down. I didn't waste much paint at all.

I use a small syringe (no needle, obviously) to get everything that doesn't pour easily. It really helps if you mix some water and flow improver in there before you start your transfer, too.
