Quick query. What are your folks opinions on how you prefer to deploy your jump pack assault squads? My planned 1500 and 2000pt BA armies will have 20 assault marines (+DC). Is it best to go with two squads of ten (I know they can split into combat squads whenever and they work out a little cheaper), or go with four small squads (which means four sergeants with melta bombs, powerfists/swords or whatever but a little more expensive to field)?????

Any thoughts?

I usually don't take then as i play vanilla and there are better assualt options in my codex, although you get to take them as a troop right?
I like taking a couple groups of 10, and trying to put a chaplin in the squad, although since i play vanilla i wouldn't know too much about basic jumpack strategy for you BA

Go with 10 man squads. I love assault marines, but they can't win a fair fight.

Yeh farrow, they're troops. That's why I was thinking 4 squads of 5 might be useful for securing objectives all over the place. But I suppose going with 10man squads and safety in numbers is probably best, Yeh?

Keep as 10, numbers count in cc where they will want to be.
Having said that combat squad against elite armies like Draigowing.

Also combat squadding from 10 means you can have a squad with 2 meltas, then a squad of 5 for winning objectives/doing lesser tasks.
