So I am planning on taking an aegis w/ Quad gun in my imperial guard army, but I have a question about orders.

Here is my question:

Can I issue orders to the guardsmen firing the quad gun? Would the order apply to the Quad guns shooting?

IE: I target something in cover and issue order "Fire on my target!" would that force the target to re-roll cover saves if I shot with my Quad Gun? or would the order apply to the guardsmen only?

hmm , Never actually Thought about it ...... Since the Quad gun would be treated like an immbile heavy weapon , and you can issue orders to heavy weapons , i would assume so . .......... Quad gun is the 4 barreled autocannon right ?

Belongs in YMDC, but yes. All special rules from the firing model apply to the gun, and vice versa.

Yea quad gun is the 4 barreled autocannon.

But in light of this I may go with icarus lascannon and use the "Bring it down" order to twin link it...

As long as the order grants special rules onto the model and not the weapon then yes it would gain the benefit of the order. The model firing the gun's rules are used when firing the gun.

No it's not (he's talking about the icarus lascannon, not the quad gun). the one on the fortress is.

yea the aegis lascannon is not twin linked. only the quad gun is twin linked.

I would think that forcing rerolls of cover would be the more useful order to employ. That way you can still use the vastly superior quad-gun.
