Does anyone think we’ll get any useful way of dealing with flyers in the near future?
I’m hoping we either get some new flyer that hopefully will look cool, or perhaps, some kinda ‘starship troopers’ kinda plasma bug, that can hit them usefully.
Hopefully the flyers won’t look like the ‘epic’ style flyers, & hopefully the ‘starship troopers’ bug wont just be a Tyrannofex with skyfire.
Any thoughts?

We have a useful way right now to deal with them - Flyrant with two pairs of Devourers. Since Flying Monstrous Creatures get Skyfire now, you can even reliably strip the hull points from a Storm Raven.

I agree though that a non-HQ non-uber expensive option would be nice.

If/When they actually release a model for the Harpy, then there's your answer right there. That thing has some seriously awesome potential for a really sweet looking model.

I wonder if the Flyrant having Skyrife is GW answer to sell more Flyrant/Swarmlord kits?

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?

I would love it if they made a new unit like the scourge in Starcraft. Little flying buggers that assault and self destruct against the hulls of flyers. You could have them function in a similar way to scarabs but be anti-air specialists.

The downside to the Harpy is its only anti air weapons are its Stinger Salvo and Vector Strike. Its main weapons are both blast, thus unable to hit flyers.

Or, you know, just make this an upgrade for Sky Slashers.

My second edition playing ways are showing again. That would be a perfect upgrade for them.

The Flyrant is definitely the best and most consistent option. Lots of S6 shot with skyfire. A Harpy just isn't strong enough to be a major threat to flyers. The strongest weapon it has against flyers is only S5, vector strike and stinger salvo. Hive Guard are a decent option too since they ignore Jink saves, and S8 hits have a much higher chance of glancing or penetrating, but you still have to roll a 6 to hit. You could also roll a bunch of psyker powers and hope for OM but that is still just a chance to get it.

The scourge/suicide flyer sounds like an awesome idea.

I'd like to see some sort of tyranid quad gun. Basically a bs3/4 immobile MC with skyfire and interceptor firing twin-linked impaler cannons.
TBH I know that will never happen because then tyranids would be better than everyone else at something...
