I think Lysander is taking this one buddy. I know both your lists pretty well and now that FW can't help out his CSM buddies its going to be difficult against all his fire power. But, your games are always very close.

Can't wait to see your battle report though. Just hold your ground against those MtG players!

Awesome game! Love the armies and table...heck I want that room! A few army shots and close ups that are in focus would be awesome if you are up to it!

No problem, pal. Next time I see my friend, I'll make sure we have the armies pose for close-ups.

Well played! I guess you guys solved the problem with your FLGS by just not going there, lol. Nicely painted Daemons Jason.

That's one classy game room! There were some tactical snafus from the Fists player that I could see, but the photos that were clear were great, and I loved seeing the armies clash on the table.

The room! I thought I had a good gaming room, pfft!

Nice to see the Thousand Sons win it! I still think the current CSM codex is viable with a good general

"Orkses never lost a battle. If we win we win, if we die we die fighting so it don't count. If we runs for it we don't die neither, cos we can come back for annuver go, see!"

I dig how in a setting where giant, muscled fungus men ride Mad Max cars and use their own teeth as currency, the concept of little engineering dudes with beards was considered a step too far down the aisle of silliness.

Regrettably, those two overheating plasma deaths turn one were only the beginning. A total of three more Space Marines were betrayed by their equipment (2 Imperial Fist Tactical Marines and a Dark Angel from the Death Watch), not to mention the plasma cannon near the scouts which only got one solid shot off the whole game!

Despite what the points say, I claim this as a victory for the Imperium. The vile traitor Ahriman was killed outright. Further, the Imperial Fists got on fine without Lysander for a thousand years while he was captured on Malodrax, they'll do fine without him again.

Very Cool battle report! I love how you kept to the Thousand sons theme, and your battlefield is quite neat as well.

Thanks everyone. My Imperial Fist pal is a lot of fun to play against. I think soon we are going to swap armies and try to fight each other that way.

Thanks.

Everyone's input has encouraged me to do more battle reports. I'll endeavor to improve the photo quality and take a little more time ensuring that the pictures match up with whatever the hell I'm talking about.

Cracking and table and both armies are painted very nicely. Even though I know the result, I would have gone with Thousand Sons. The AP3 bolters would tackle Marines easily, and Screamers and Flamers are just deadly.

Stupid sorcerers.... stupid spells screwing up stupid plasma weapons.... DARN YOU TZEENTCH! Great looking game dude! Hopefully my fellow son of Dorn will learn to leave the Dark Angels to the plasmas, and use more of the "i wont hurt you like that" HB and MM.

Laziness is no excuse.

Thanks for the excellent batrep.
I have found that, with all the great new powers that we have access to, the Thousand Sons are doing quite well.
Both armies look great. Terrain is very cool.
I noticed the speaker cabinet and monitor against the wall. It looks like your game room has the same function as mine- game room /guitar studio.

Really liked this - two strongly themed armies duking it out, and despite the lack of vehicles quite a mobile mixed-up battle. beautiful minis as well, and loads of pics, just what I want from a batrep - Although I can't help but wondering, have you read the rules for power axes properly? Yes, it's +1str and Ap2, but also unwieldy - strike at I1. That would've made a big difference I think!

Gonna have a rematch?

Run a whole lot of wfrp and other rpg's, play The Woods and Kill Team, gather and look mournfully at imperial guard knowing I'll never finish enough to use them on the tabletop

Hey guys thanks for the additional comments.

Regarding Force Axes-

Both of us have miniatures with them, and in fact all of my Aspiring Sorcerers use Force Axes while the HQ sorcerers have Force Staves to take advantage of Initiative 5.

Thanks for the vigilance my friend, but they were being used correctly! I find that I can just decline challenges but usually hiding behind a wall of Rubrics if there are no challenges declared is just fine. In fact, I just played a Dark Angels player (game ended literally 1 minute ago) and I declared challenges against sergeants with Power Swords. Usually, he will die for being low initiative, but I can roll some *serious* Invulnerable Saves. One Aspiring Sorcerer just claimed 3 skulls in challenges against various sergeants, even though he was only I 1.

Fun stuff!

Make me take a single armor save, however...... my army starts to crumble then.

Debating giving all the Aspiring Sorcerers Force Staves but I find that my army needs some serious AP2 in Close Combat. So... For now I will roll with axes. Input? Ducking out of Challenges is beneficial if the Troops unit you're in is Fearless ; )

Nice BatRep sir. Very nicely painted armies as well.

For me however that terrain takes the cake! I'm still attending the basics... like painting my first squad; but that board is what makes the game so tasty.
