I've been looking everywhere near and far, hither and yon, to and fro, etc.

I am looking for a picture of the Spiker Plant. I'm going to make some green stuff models of them, but I need a picture first!
Do any pictures of this Catachan Spiker Plant even exist? I needs da halpz.

Preeeety sure a spiker plant has always been a small ball of styrofoam colored green with red toothpicks coming out.

There's actually a pic & a couple sentences on the spiker plant on the last page of codex catachans.

Would it be ok to post a pic since it was a freely distributed pdf?

Correct. They feature most abundantly in second edition era battle reports / codices. They often have some more shape to them and several were made from wiremesh frame and paper maiche with tooth picks. easy route is the styrofoam ball/oval/insert shape here + toothpicks.

The USS Orinoco was a Federation Danube-class runabout that was in service with Starfleet in the late 24th century, attached to Deep Space 9. It was outfitted with a sensor pod.

Does the codex (or specific page) say you're free to copy and distribute it?
Can it be found on the GW site for everyone to download?

Otherwise it's an illegal copy and would likely be more than frowned upon here.

Spiker Plants: Take a styrofoam ball that is 1"-1 1/2" in diameter. Stick several (8-10) toothpicks into the ball at randome points. Prime then paint with greens/browns to taste. Repeat with 2-3 more balls. Base the entire group on a nice 6x4 or 6x6 base. Call it impassable terrain and use the mysterious forrest terrain rules for any model within 1-2 inches of the base.

Life isn't fair. But wouldn't it be worse if Life were fair, and all of the really terrible things that happen to us were because we deserved them?

Actually under fair use an excerpt for purposes of discussion of said excerpt or the entirety of the work is perfectly legal. I have an attorney's citation on that so I'm not asking law. I'm asking policy here on dakka specifically because dakka leans more conservative on such issues.

Yeah, I'd say "more conservative" is being pretty conservative.

If you look up wargames terrain, the original red book, there is a guide to making them them in there.
