Hey yall how ya doin, well i have been selling crud on ebay and i was looking at fantasy armies since my VC's need blood knights to finish up the army but that is besides the point.

I was looking at Beastmen a while ago and i ordered a bestigor unit just to paint and see if i liked them and i enjoyed painting them but i dont want to field an army of the same unit over and over and i do not want a horde army i have that already but at the same time Beastmen have rockin models that i cant stop looking at.

Warriors of Chaos has the iconic unit the Chaos Warriors and they are a quality army if you choose to run them that way i have heard tales of the marauder spam with great weapons but in california fantasy is not as big as 40k. I love sigvauld the awesome and i like his story and his stlye.

I have heard some good things about Warriors and worrisome things about beastmen i was told beastmen are the ambush horde army which bugs me since i already have the Vampire counts and all the horde i need.

The vague rumors are that Warriors are getting a new book Oct-Nov, so if you pick them you might want to wait.

For a while Beastmen definitely had a bad rap but that seems to be changing. You might want to check out youtube for battle reports to see what people are doing & if you like it.

Off topic also- have you thought about using High Elf Dragon Princes instead of Blood Knights?

You could make a Beastman army with a lot of minotaurs, Beastigors and Monstrous Creatures. It's always an option if you want to go for a lower model count, I don't know how effective it is.
I started Chaos Warriors because I love the models and I'm a slow painter so the low model count is very important to me. If you're looking for a elite army that looks amazing it's a great army.

Both Chaos Beastmen and Warriors will probably (hopefully!) get a new armies book in the not too distant future and a bunch of new releases along with it. I'd be tempted to wait for that to drop before I started collecting one of the armies.

Beastmen are great, they are not necessarily a horde army. You can honestly get buy with 40 gor, 30ish bestigor, and some chaff ungor raiders maybe 20, 5-10 harpies and 1-2 single razorgors. They are nothing like skaven, empire or orcs and goblins when it comes to hordes. It is afterall a game based on regiments and troops though. If you want a low army count play with Chaos Warriors based Warriors of Chaos or Ogres.

You could play woc and use beastmen models as marauders which would look sick.

Woc is pretty fun lots of options 3 unique lores.

sigi is legit. played with him a few days ago. He is a beast and murders face.

You also get monsters in woc so if you want to run minotaurs you could feild em as trolls or ogres which with beastmen marauders would look sweet and play well.

you could play an army that poops to mark its territory or you could play an army made up of big strong and blood thirsty army clad in amazing armour.

Not for nothing but the reason I'm not a fan of WoC is they are generally considered the more forgiving army and because of that my local game store has like 4+ WoC armies and 1 Beastmen army. Play the army you like the look of and the one that people are excited to play against. I constantly get, "Beastmen huh? I really don't know what they can do, never played them". The guy who sees WoC across the table will grumble with their 5 point marauders and overpowered chaos warrior stats and think wow I played these guys last week. For the love of God if you go with WoC please go with a cool theme like Slaanesh if you use Sigvauld something like what is here: http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/wnt/blog.jsp?pid=2700012-gws mix in those Daemonettes a lot of cool stuff please don't do the typical here is my unit of Mark of Tz Warriors with Shields and here is my 50 man unit of Mark of Khorne Great Weapon or Flail Marauders....

i am going to be selling a fur coat on ebay and it will give me enough cash to go with a slannesh theme and beastmen so i can proxy beastmen as marauders and still have a small beastmen army. I just love slannesh so much.

Beastmen, definitely.

Yes, they are far weaker than WoC and more expensive to buy, but playing WoC gets boring really fast. While being a strong army, they lack a lot of tactical options. Playing a normal WoC army basically is moving your tropps straight forwards and then rolling melee dice. Along with your sorcerer, trying to get off Gate as often as possible. It's amazing at the beginning but gets boring. Seriously.

Beastmen are the weaker army of those two but are fun to play...sure, they also have lots of straight.out troops (as that's what 8th is about) but flanking and tactical maneuvers (or whatever's left of them in 8th) is a lot more important here.

i like slaanesh so i need to figure out how to add that to beastmen

ultimately i am at a impasse if that is the right word i like both the WoC have the perfect armour to make Emprahs Children but i love the bestial nature and ambush strategy. I should roll a dice get 4 factions i like and roll a 4 sided its the way my friend did it. In my area there are no fantasy players besides like 4 or 5 of us most people have 2 armies, once i get the cash i will help a guy get tomb kings.
