Subject: Owls in the 41st millennium?

So I'd like to replace the cyber eagle on my corteaz model with an owl ( because they're my favorite birds of prey, capable of being cute and deadly) but I'm not sure if there are any owls still alive in the 41st millennium. I know the TS had it as a symbol for one of their cults, but they also had a mythological phoenix as a symbol, so owls may have gone extinct and decended into myth. Does anyone know of any fluff accounts of live breathing owls in the fluff?

I'm not sure there are eagles alive in the 41st millennium.
I can't recall any BL book talking about owls, but with thousands of planets it's possible there are some with Owl or Owl-like creatures that were taken from old Earth and used to populate the new planet with predatory birds.
Go for it!

If someone says otherwise, you can always use the GW excuse "Tzeentch did it, or the Warp screwed up something there and ... Owls"

There can be birds of all sort in 40k, but most are mechanical leftovers from a lost technological age and poop toxic rain, and poke at you with their tiny beaks.

If anyone questions it, just tell them the owl is artificial, "of course."
And very expensive.

There aren't NOT owls. There are as likely to be owls as there are people called "John", so go for it. And show us all what it looks like

It's possible. I mean, if there are horses and wolves on random planets across the galaxy then it's entirely possible. Maybe some settlers from Terra brought them over like the British brought rabbits over to Australia?

The mechanical owl from the original 'Clash of the Titans' i think. IIRC he had a cameo in the new one also..
If my memory serves he was called bubo.
my dictionary defines bubo as:
bu·bo (bb)
n. pl. bu·boes
Inflammatory swelling of one or more lymph nodes, especially in the groin.
Which pretty much sums him up. Annoying little fether...

in the utterly vast galaxy i would imagine owl-like creatures. If not owls of earth origin do exist SOMEWHERE.

I believe that was precisely what he was getting at (note the double negative) ...
... aside from Black Library novel fluff being just as valid as any poster's own personal opinion, so why the hell not.
I too will add that a mechanical owl would be superior to a natural one, however!
