Hi,
i'm a big fan of games like necromunda, mordheim, blood bowl, cutlass etc. Can anyone recommend other games like these where your squad/gang gain skills as you progress?

Thanks in advance

I think that most or all of the games by Ganesha games are skirmish level games with campaign/advancement options. They arent as detailed as Necromunda, they play quicker.

Ive got Song of Blades and Heroes, which is fantasy skirmish. They have several other genres available.

They are download & print games for the most part, but you can also buy printed rulebooks of at least some of them, possibly all.

Flying Lead is the game you would want to use to replace Necromunda.

Warmachine (Cygnar)
10/15mm mecha
Song of Blades & Heroes

As was mentioned previously, Song of Blades and Heroes is a great system. The basic ruleset has a good basic advancement system, but the Song of Deeds and Glory expansion has a very extensive (but still managable) advancement and campaign system.

Here's our summer campaign with those rules.

Also, it's very cheap at only 8 bucks for each SBH series PDF.

If you like the post-apoc scavenger environment, I would suggest the free ruleset Wastelands Meltdown. It's a very stripped back rulesset which plays really fast and is quite bloody. It's basically MadMax and Fallout rolled into one game.
The current edition "Meltdown" is rather vehicle focused.

We ran a convention game with a modified version of the rules and had great fun.

If you want a game more focused on the individual figs, I'd suggest the earlier version Wastelands 1.2. It has hit points for figs which makes them a bit more survivable. If you want those rules, email me and I'll send them to you.

Have you heard about Neuroshima Tactics? It's a new skirmish game, partially inspired by Necromunda (it's also a postapocalyptic world).

Look in here:

http://www.portalpublishing.eu/products/neuroshima-tactics/

Rules in english should be available for free download in about a week or two, as international premiere is scheduled for the second half of October.

The rules for neuroshima look like they might be really cool! I'll definitely be downloading it when it becomes avaialble. Looks like there's an article about it here:

The figures are pretty nice also, but at 10 bucks a pop for subjects (mutants, gangers, survivors, military) that I already own, I don't think I'll be buying anytime soon.

Judge Dredd. It's about as close as you can get to Necromunda really. It's even got a kickstarter going right now:

You can find this article and another one in pdf in here:

Both texts are fragments from the rulebook. When the whole rulebook and armybook are ready, we'll put them there as well.

Empire of the Dead.
Victorian error fantasy/horror/steam-punk skirmish game with character development very similar to blood-bowl or necromunda.

Hire/Fire guys. Get them new skills, horrible debilitating injuries, permenant-death, new equipment etc etc.

It's very polished and enjoyable so far - I'm only new to it.

We are working on a post collapse style skirmish/rpg called Wreck Age, the book is going to be available soon but you can also DL our quickstart rules for free at http://wreck-age.net. Lot's of narrative and campaign play in the finished product, as it is meant to be community based.

Everyone please forgive the self promotion!

One member of my games club has played a few games of Wreck Age. He says it's a great game. From what little I've read of the intro rules, I haven't found any reason to dispute him.

Dinosaur Cowboys! That's right, more shameless, shameless self promotion It's a skirmish game with a campaign system though.

Build a posse of 2-5 people and up to 1 dinosaur. Customize their statistics on an individual basis using a point buy system. Give them unique traits. Equip them from dozens of weapons, armor, and devices. Use the many deployments, objectives, and features to create any narrative you could want. Then have them get injured and wounded after battle. Get more improvement points to change their stats further. More traits, more money, mo' problems.

Make a pretty hex map and play across it with your friends!

I've been playing through a campaign for a while now where the posse went from 100 points, $1,000, and 3 traits to 179 points, $2,000, and 5 traits over four or five games.

Freshly updated free rules too!

(There, was that shameless enough? )

Yeah he has been designing and play testing some scenarios with me, it has been going really well. I keep intending to join up with you guys one of your Thursday game nights but life has been hectic these last few months. Much of my hobby time is spoken for, as I am sure you can imagine.

Have we met then? I have met about six of you guys!

Depends which member of the WA team you are. I attended a Sox game with him and one of you.
